I appreciate your sense of honor. And the challenge implied.... "yeah, this is what I run, but I bet you can't make one as fast". Love it ! I've been in the hobby long enough to realize that it isn't just about the motor and ESC. There is painstaking hours of reducing driveline friction, suspension tuning, tire selection, lubricants, gear ratios, batteries, aero, etc. etc. Just because you have a killer strong Castle motor is just the start..... Love your channel, dude...

I love that you’re not insecure and trying to hide all your “secrets”. You are so right about “over sharing”, there is so much more to speed running than just knowing the setup. People that know that they are good at something and confident in their skills have no issues sharing their knowledge with others. Insecure individuals are terrified that someone else might become as good as them.

I don't think that's how it happened. Like most technologies, it comes from research groups at universities and if manufacture-able, becomes a reality on the market. Competition only really comes in at the corners to squeeze more performance per dollar. In the case of li-ion, and eventually li-poly, John Goodenough was one of the inventors. He's supposedly working on the next battery technology which will be ceramic based.

You are the reason I even consider on road builds. Prior to finding your channel, I was exclusively an off road and dirt oval guy. But the stuff you do show, like how to build a 150mph car, has shown me there is a challenge to doing this on road stuff, and has gotten me interested in it. It has also convinced me to convert my Jato to a 6s electric system, and use it as an on road car.

There is plently of videos on how to get fast with an rc, just have to find them. And if you are looking into burning money, dual motor limitless with a scorched front bearing drive shaft, rear carbon fiber drive shaft, ceramic bearings, a fc100 delta plastiks body, and 2 1100kv xlx2 combos. Great way to spend about 3k, but that setup has gone 200mph.

Awesome video! I'm not much of a speed run guy because of the high maintenance cost, but this video was sick, and the fact you didn't hide your build deserves major props. Most speed runners on YT won't share their components breakdown, but you gave pretty much a full breakdown on what you were running. I'm actually blown away that your tires held up at 190+mph. I've see a lot of speed run videos before and blow outs are very common over 165mph...some happen at lower speeds than that. I'm probably guessing a lot of that was attributed to those springs your were running. The springs seemed to keep the car perfectly stiff at the desired ride height and also reduice the vibration traveling through the wheels and chassis. The fact hose tires held up like that for two runs is insane! I appreciate everything you shared in this video! Thanks!

This is why I just stay here. I will soon learn how to read my logs better, because of you. Thank you, Congrads for the new world record as well. I will figure out the gears myself, using your gear chart. My best thus far is 116 mph, listening to you. And some have just started talking about things just not related to RC. @Kyle_R_Wolfe2 жыл бұрын
People underestimate how important body stability really matters at those high speeds. Between the new body mounts and stuff I think that's what's helping so much with these runs. That older body with the bolted or riveted aero parts on it I feel like has too much play. I would glue the extra parts on or use some sort of adhesive to prevent any bit of wiggle or air slipping through. You have to think at close to 200mph all that force will find any weakness. All this will make the car super unstable.
@Kyle_R_Wolfe2 жыл бұрын
With all the other things you raz does combined with bulletproof stability = the best runs. Just my opinion from all the videos I've watch raz do thus far.

Im not knocking what you are doing, I love your videos Raz and with you are achieving by modding a RTR car is very impressive, but Nic Case's 203mph record was set with a single motor, I don't recall if there is video of him taking the body off after a 200+run, but his build is well documented, he wasn't shy about revealing what he was using either, it was officially set at an endorsed event with a 2 way average timed across a measured distance too, not just an instantaneous top speed measured by GPS, 8 years later and a few folks like you are getting close on the GPS, but no one is yet close to beating it officially and ROSSA don't even require the second direction for an average any more (like other motorsport/moddlesport speed records do).
