The Strymon Magneto is here. This is what it sounds like when you feed it 2xRings and 2xPlonks

It's channels like yours that remind me: It doesn't matter what gear you have, because each person has their own sound. No matter what you play, your music will sound like your music. It's all about the player, not the instrument. You have such a wide array of gear, and you make everything work in your favor, no matter what it was meant for. You take a sampler meant for house music and you turn it into an ambient dreambox. It makes people like me, with minimal setups, more hopeful for our futures. Thanks. I love it.

While it may be true that everyone has their own sound, not everyone goes in search of it, and fewer still find it - it takes work! :) All credit to R Beny for being one of those few!

I was feeling worried about what kind of hear I should buy next. Then I saw his mishmash of gear made into this perfect chorus and I realized it’s all about what works for the sound you want, not which one is “better” or has more functions.

At the moment, this video has 49,000 views. I am responsible for 48,864 of those views (the people responsible for the 136 comments must explain the remaining views). This is magical. I made a playlist with some of your videos, and I listen to them in so many different contexts. I started putting it on in the background when I studied and worked. I have serious anxiety and it helps calm me down, feel relaxed, and allows me to maintain motivation. I often have really bad anxiety at night (like so bad I have occasionally had panic attacks), and this helped me shut off my never ending night thoughts of dread - and it helped me fall asleep. I even started playing it when I write in my journal, bc the whole ambience is not only relaxing but also inspires reflection and introspection. And finally, sometimes I listen just to listen. These are masterpieces, your creations. This one in particular just blows me away. Every little plink and hum contributes to this gestalt river of auditory gold. I could listen to this one for hours on end - and I have, and will continue to do so lol. I subbed the first time I really listened to you, but I wish I could unsub just to sub to you again. Thanks for putting your art out there. The world is better for it.
@rbeny5 жыл бұрын
thank you, i am glad you enjoy my music and that it can help with your anxiety. i have anxiety as well, and music is one of the few things that can me help get through it. i'm honored that my music does it for you. this comment made my day!

Wonderful stuff as always Mr B. How do you achieve such organic timing with your sequencing, micro timing settings on the DT or is there other magic afoot? Also, what purpose is the ER-301 serving in this patch? Best wishes 👍
@rbeny5 жыл бұрын
all depends on what sequencer i use. with dt, the micro timing settings help greatly. anything with a cv input, it's easy to run it with a "sloppy" clock. from what i recall, the 301 is being used to excite 1 of the rings (custom exciter unit i made) and as a simple mixer for mixing the plonks/rings together before they go to magneto. definitely only a tiny portion of what it can do.
@GrootsieTheDog4 жыл бұрын
r beny Can you achieve a “sloppy clock” felling on the Deluge using a very fine resolution on various tracks so that they don’t sound mechanical and locked into a step - so it basically sounds like a sequence without quantization? Thanks
