I'm pretty sure Yoshi-san said they had loopers using the RC-505mkII during development, but I think it was for a competition. So, they would more likely have set it up to work like what they were used to rather than its possibilities and certain not thinking beyond what it could do. "For this next song, "Silent Scream," I'm going to frustratedly going through settings until my disappointment is palpable."

It also seems to quiet the switches a bit. I don't know why there is no in-between...rubber sleeved switches would cut down a lot of glide sound.

Excellant. I used the RC-300 for 10 years, "see youtube holden bare Mrs. Robinson" and once you had your drum track 1 and then recorded your acoustic guitar track 2, if you stopped T2 it would start from the beginning. As you have pointed out, the rc-600 will not do this and that is a problem playing live. I have to stop all and restart to get to beginning. A lot of tap dancing. Great looper that will be better in time and upgrades. Thx for your input.

Thanks for the helpful video. I like your idea of an application that would let you set up the RC-600 less tediously! My midi assigns have got convoluted. I resist changing them around even to experiment with.

I really wish they would add an “all clear” option to the “hold” function of the Undo/Redo button/option. That’s how it was in my old RC-50. Worked perfectly. Not sure why it doesn’t exist as an option in the control functions or why it just wouldn’t be a stock option out of the box. No idea why they put that option on the hold function of the All Start/Stop.

This is a great insight! As I understand it, once you add “hold” to a switch, the “press” action may not occur until release, which introduces delay. To avoid delay they (and other loppers) commit the press action (e.g., All Start) and then do the hold action if you keep pressing (e.g., All Clear). So you get the blip of Loops. I agree with you that it is much better to have this on undo/redo where undo is already a single clear and redo will be rather unnoticeable if playing and irrelevant if stopped.

Boss needs to watch this. That is crazy that it can't be set to start on the 1, when u press it in the middle??!! That is a really important feature, how did they miss miss that.. on ALL their loopers?? They really need to watch this.

A repeating history problem...The RC-300 was miles beyond anything out there and solved so many problems. People joyously learned to work WITH it and its progeny. BOSS has been very inventive under fresh ideas will come with his

Disable loop sync on the six bar track to start from beginning. And you enable start at end of loop from system, not loop.

Please let me know if I've misunderstood...I find no setting for end of loop start in Menu (i.e., "system") and, personally, I would not want it there. Are you referring to 'Loop>Play>S.TRK CHANGE' (which is for single track mode loops, not for multi-track, but something similar for multi is what I want to see. Also, disabling loops sync would likely work for a brief punch in/out (1-2 bars), but over a 6 bar loop (or longer) and/or repeating loops timing gets progressively off (out of sync). I would like for both single mode and multi mode to be able to set it per loop (iPad loopers can do it, so this powerhouse could also).

Hello - I've had no success transferring the midi drum patterns I made on the Alesis SR16 to my RC600. It will record the audio output, but changing the tempo of that sound bad. How do you record the midi output of the drum machine? It is receiving the midi signal in the RC mixer but the record track light flashes red.

Do you need to vary the tempo? It just sounds okay up to some point. Alternatively, you could use the midi to control the RC-600 drums. See JohnPaul Music UK's video for the latter.

A really great USB interface in fact. Either in "Generic" mode 2x2 or in "Vender" mode 8x8. The 2x2 is restricted to 44.1 (...still 32bit floating) but in Vender mode can do 44.1, 48 or 96. The Generic mode shows up as "Audio OUT" (which you choose for both in and out) and Vender mode is "RC-600" (which requires the driver from BOSS).

Hi Angus, I respect your knowledge on the Rc-600. I am not much of a looper gut but I do perform regularly solo or with a small band. I am looking for a pedal to trigger prerecorded stems from my music. Do you think this pedal is a good option? Looks like potentially I could load a drum loop + Bass line + pad and trigger them individually or together. That would be awesome solo! But also when I play with the small band, I would love send a left mix to the PA and a the right side with click/cues to the band. I would love to have one device that I can focus on learning and then be able to play both solo + band shows with more layers. What is your opinion?

Yes you can load stems into the pedal. You'd have to play with the level because they play much louder than than the on-the-fly loops (unless they have fixed it in an update). You could also ask @JohnPaul Music UK His knowledge far exeeds mine on the RC-600.

appreciate your content. I'm struggling with this and can't find away around it unfortunately. I'm in mode 1. I want bank 1 to be receiving my drums from an external source. I want to be able to play that at a short loop say of 4 beats. I want that to be the bpm of the track so I set that first and it saves me looping drums for say 4 x 4 beats. I then want to go in to bank 2 and set a loop length say of 12 bars. now this is where it gets tricky and can't figure it out. say I've recorded guitar rhythm in bank two and now want to add other parts like harmonies or bass parts on the guitar. I want to add that to bank 3. for some reason they won't quantize together and the loop seems off. I know there's a global quantize but is there a way to set it so that when I set drums for 4 bars that banks two and three can be played longer but be quantized together? you can do this on the rc300 just by putting bank 1 in free mode and other two banks in auto mode. I bought this pedals for sound quality improvements, more inputs and outputs but it doesn't seem to do the one thing I want it to. I'll have to take it back otherwise.

I really want to be able to save input FX chains. I set up 30 patches to work with my acoustic guitar. Then my guitar broke and when I got a new one I had to readjust fx on all 30 patches. It literally took me 30 times longer than it would have if I could just save FX chains.

I can’t recommend (i.e., warranty), but the presets are text and key sections could be copy/pasted to each preset.

Hi I also hope that boss solves these problems on rc600. I would like to ask you if you can record with this sequence without having problems of misalignment of the recordings: 1) I record track one with accompaniment chords, starting the recording on the first quarter in downbeat, for four measures. 2) I record a melody on the second track which must start 1/8 earlier than the chords recorded on the first track. Having done this, listening to the recordings again, it happens that after the first reproductions in which everything plays in time, it happens that the synchronization begins to get lost until the two tracks no longer play in time. Do you also have this problem? It would be a disappointment to find that the rc600 cannot handle loops with recording starts at different times. Thank you very much, congratulations on your channel.

BB slaves amazingly with RC-600. I understand previous Boss Loopers did not work so well, but some were able to use it.

I have not tried it as master (and dk why I'd want to. I would not want the BB to control the RC-600). I have also not tried to control transitions with the RC-600 as I do that with an MC8. I just send start from the RC-600 right now (so that the BB is beat-synced to the RC-600).

i dont think a USB input can be contrilled by the Mixer. Nor can USB signal trigger AUTO REC

That is a good question. There is midi over USB in the settings that should respond the same as the midi pin messages. As such, you would think auto rec should work as it can be set up as a Target assign to your chosen CC#. Have you tried it?
