If you don't have enough space for those BIG BOSS footswitches, it is quite easy to make something smaller. Here is how to do it.

Nice informative video on this subject, thanks!

Much appreciated. I figure if I had to dig in multiple place to find the info, I better share it in one place.

Great video, I am new to the mc8 and love my boss pedals. This has been helpful and very much appreciated. Is there any way to set a double switch normally open momentary with an alternating green/red led? I would like to use a dual switch to control the mic mutes of the rc and ve 500.
@Angus.Maclean7 ай бұрын
I was going to do this when I was using another (unnamed) looper before the RC, but I think you are much better off muting with a midi message from the MC8. (unless I am misunderstanding)

Hi Angus. Great video, many thanks for sharing. Would you know if the Boss Ms-3 supports normally opened or normally closed? I am planning to build a 2 switch...one to control tap tempo and the other to be assigned to some other parameters. Many thanks for your time. Brian
@Angus.Maclean3 ай бұрын
I’ve not seen a boss that is not normally closed, but I have no experience with boss switchers. Check the parameter guide, where it seems to describe your ability to do both with INV.

Would a toggle switch be too much to control the Open or Closed switches?? Btw great clear video
@Angus.Maclean Жыл бұрын
Do you mean a toggle instead of a momentary switch?
@alanwallace8696 Жыл бұрын
@Angus Maclean no to open or close, as referring to the momentary switches. I think I was making it alot more complicated than necessary. 2x momentary switches 1x stereo out And that's it , right?
@Angus.Maclean Жыл бұрын
Correct, for Boss and many others. Some pedals allow you to do three switches for one stereo out (e.g., MorningStar).

I just acquired the boss dd500 delay. I would like to build a bank up bank down for it. Like the boss fs7 pedal. Am i correct in assuming this is the same?
@MinistryOfStrings9 ай бұрын
Or would I need latching switchs
@Angus.Maclean9 ай бұрын
@@MinistryOfStrings Yes, it is the same.

thanks for this. Nice pedalboard - is the BB synced up to the RC-600?
@Angus.Maclean2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the BB syncs perfectly (Menu>MIDI>Sync Out: on). However, choices...In RC-600 (Loop>Rhythm>Start Trig & Stop Trig). which is nicely per memory. The RC triggers the BB to start. And there are more options, but this sets up the sync.

How would i do this with a DPDT switch with 6 lugs on it?
@pogpogger4381 Жыл бұрын
So the boss RC600 needs a normaly closed momentary switch?
@Angus.Maclean Жыл бұрын
Correct 👍

I would like to make a one switch FS-U5 PEDAL .how do I do it
@Angus.Maclean2 жыл бұрын
1. Know if you need open or closed. 2. Decide on the size of enclosure (small is good; too small is unstable to stomp), 3. Get parts (one switch, one enclosure, one TS jack), 4. Drill out holes, 5. Solder one prong to tip, one prong to sleeve., 6. Test, 7. Put it together.

@@Angus.Maclean how do we know if it is noramly open or closed before buying?
@Angus.Maclean Жыл бұрын
@@pogpogger4381 It will say. If not, buy elsewhere. Most boss ctl inputs (e.g., DD-500, RCA-600) allowed two switches, so you might be wasting a switch available if you’re only going to make one. Also, the space of one is almost the same as an FS-5U, so unless you’re doing it for fun there’s not a lot of cost benefit for one.
