www.RCSparks.com - This is a great time for me to start on a little side project I wanted to get going. I purchased a tube chassis from ebay, that had a painted Ford body I liked. Not only that.. it had some customizations that I really liked. I see much potential in this rig, so I figured it was time to bust out the old BEAST TRUCK. It has seen so many RC ADVENTURES videos, and entertained millions.. so, to pay it the respect its owed, and overhaul and restoration is required!
I start by inspecting my one of my original TTC Trucks I build called "The Beast". It was based off of an Axial SCX10 Trail Truck - a Toyota Honcho, I believe. After many upgrades and wins, and failures, the truck has been through hell and back. I hadn't done any maintenance and NOW IM PAYiNG THE PRiCE! I figured this was as good of times as any to show off what happens when you neglect awesome Radio Control hobby products after heavy use!
Now I have a complete rebuild on my hands..
No worries though, Im up to the challenge!

Questions & Answers: 1) "Your Plug wires are going in the wrong spot" 1A) My plug wires are in the right spot for the type of engine I wanted. . 2) "The engine should be in the front" 2a) In a proper rock & trail buggy - an engine is perfectly fine in the rear, towards the middle. Especially surrounded by a cage. . 3) "Your fake engine is on the wrong way" 3a) Actually - it on the proper way. Are you referring to the forced air induction scoop? If I was travelling at great speeds.. you would be correct.. But as it is only trailing, and crawling - it gets plenty of air. Important thing to remember fellow RC Addicts - It's a Toy, and is meant for fun. Imagination is the key.. :-)

Note: unless it's a over head cam motor, plugs go through the valve cover. Like the 4.6 dohc import motors, and a lot more - including the HEMi

Well for what it's worth, I think your placement of your wires are perfect, I would have done the very same. If anyone else wants it different on their motor, well that will be up to them. I had an old saying when my kids where growing up= the most important word in my design was (my) so if you want to do it different on your motor, it would be (your) motor. Keep up the new, and innovations of opening our eyes to new possibilities, and ideas! Thank you my friend, good job to you from (grampajim)

I have been detailing model vehicle engines since I was 14. I wont tell you how long ago that really was but a while. I still do models in the winter. I have just gotten back into RC vehicles,mostly mine fly. If I ever do an open motor style,I will definitely detail everything out. I even make my own parts using sculpy mold clay or cast my own.

I like this the red wires add to the realism and the engine is pretty cool how it rocks back and forth from the Cross wrench it could have probably fit it under the hood too and have the blower stick out of the hood that'd been pretty cool too

Hey medic maybe for future projects you could incorporate the electric motors in the scale engine like cut out a part so the engine would fit in it (thats what she said). Or you could have the model engine as a cover for the electric engine.you don't have to do any of these if you don't want to just throwing it out there for ideas. Anyway congratulations on the baby and love the build looks so good hope to see in future vids.

Very creative and looks great. The only issue I see is the hex you cut down and ran into the engine, as that thing spins it's going to melt the plastic of the engine. I think long term you may need to permanently mount the engine and have some sort of bearing block inside to support the rotation of the shaft coming off of the slipper clutch. Looks fantastic!
@RCRRemoteControlRichard
@RCRRemoteControlRichard 10 жыл бұрын

Love the revival, one thing I noticed though was it looks very tall with the shocks ad tires with that metal cage you might roll easy so you might want to lower it (idk if it would be best to adjust the suspension or the tire pressure). But hey its your rc so do what you want :) and love the engine that is so cool for $6

love the idea of using the wheel wrench as a drive shaft to the transmission. it gives it that extra little bit of scale realism. just a thought though I could see the wrench after time melting or tearing up the plastic on the engine. what about finding a bearing big enough to go on the small end of the wrench and pressing that in to the back of the scale motor. just an idea. cant wait to see the beast in action
