I’m a complete beginner at RC, I bought a Tamiya Sand Scorcher 1/10 buggy: now what do I need to get it running? Controller, battery, receiver, speed controller, recharger, servo - there’s a lot of stuff, and I know nothing about it! So I spoke to an RC expert at Metro Hobbies. This video explains all the accessories and extra equipment you’ll need to finish your RC build and get it racing! There are also some important safety tips as well.
I will admit up front, I can’t help you with expert questions above what is discussed in this interview with Vasco. As I said to Vasco before we began: “Honestly, assume I'm a three year old and know absolutely nothing about RC and start from the basics!”. This video is to help other RC beginners who are as clueless as I am ;) Dave

Great video. Brings back memories from being a teenager. I saved and saved and ended up with 3 Tamiya RC buggies with my parents help. I had The Frog, Wild Willy Jeep and the Boomerang. I preferred the Boomerang as if recall, was 4X4 and also seemed quicker. I made my Father laugh once as just before going to school one day I put The Boomerang under an empty box with Ariel sticking out. Bin Men/Garbage Men came to throw rubbish in the wagon. One came for the box as I watched from a window in my house, he got closer. When about to pick it up, it shot off up the street at speed. It frightened the life out of him. LOL!!!!! I would love to get another and do a review on it as now an adult.

Very informative. Excellent information for a beginner. Best of all, unlike a lot of other channels, it wasn't taken as a sales opportunity. Thank you

Enjoy your channel. Coincidentally, I had the Frog back in the 80’s too. Getting back into it as well.

Steve and Brenda Ball has the bug bitten again? How many have you purchased now? I imagine it could get addictive pretty easily!

for the chardger there are many cheaper ones that do the same thing. if you do use lipo battery's also get a metal box for it they are nown to explode or catch fire so do not leave them un attended. if you whant proof search for lipo fires on youtube.
