Nice video! One thing I like to do is solder the cut end to make it less likely to have the cable become unraveled.

Hey Paul, Can you do a video on cutting the cable and smoothing the end. That's the bit I would love to see how its done. Looking great mate. Can't wait to try her out. Cheers.

Hey Garry I only got one hand to video and show,to be honest I cut the cable with a near new pair of side cutters really put your grip into the cutters and snap the cables cut then I just grind the end round or fit the cable into the vicefit the end you don't want into the vice and cut with a new hacksaw blade then grind the end round

That's just what I needed to learn Paul, thanks for taking the time to make this, I got 6s for Sr80 pro project on the go due to seeing yours in action, sure you fitted a 4mm flex to yours, I'm guessing you bought a 4mm stuffing for it to fit or managed to drill larger hole somehow?

Hi😊👍 this vid I'm using 4.76mm cables as the stock Zonda is the same but 2 peice I've replaced that.The Vector SR65 I've fitted 4mm and the Vector SR80 you'll need to replace the metal tube and teflon for the 4.76mm flex cable.If your not running 6s in the Vector then a 4mm replacement flex cable and strut,teflon eliminates the stock rear bearing failure.Hope you can sort your SR80,I hope my answer helps

That's a wealth of knowledge for me Paul, that would have likely taken me a lot of time and money to have worked that out 😁👍 I will keep you updated, I'm planning on taking advantage of having the self righting and using it in the sea jumping waves/backflips etc, think it should be fun. Thanks again from South Wales UK

How do you tell the difference between left and right flex cable? is the spiral supposed to angle towards the direction of the prop?

You are running very hot setups with those high RPM. 8S on a 2600kV motor will destroy the bearing inside the motor. That is roughly 80000rpm and the bearings are only capable of 42000rpm. Highly suggest lower kV and go with bigger props instead. Needless to say, the flex shafts and teflon liner won't hold up.

Hi 😊👍 I'm only running 6s 😊 you'd be about the 20th person who has warned me about running 6s but it's fine the bearings stay quiet on 6s 42mm prop,any bigger and the esc cuts, I tried Zonda it's fine but can't continue to thrash need cool down runs

@@paulcooper7162 Yes, I'm using 300A ESC but that is overkill. I run on 44 alu props and get 85mph. Still planning on above 100mph this month. At least trying!

@@jk_stuff7023 This is 300A escs in the Zonda?.must be heavy which isn't a bad thing? I found the 300A ESC delivers less output power than a flycolor 150A esc when running 6s lipo

@@paulcooper7162 Need to throw them on a scale, but they are not bad tbh. No overheating issues for just bashing around and plenty of power.

hey Paul, do you know where in Australia I can buy a 4mm flexshaft with a 3/16 stub at least 520mm long. USA shipping is insanely slow and even non existant at the moment
@paulcooper7162
@paulcooper7162 3 жыл бұрын
Hi James no I don't that's a real hard one,closest I know is shaft for the Vector SR80 which is 4mm cable but 5mm stub so I drill my 4.76mm strut out to 5mm which is easy,the full cable is not 520mm though
