I’m pretty sure Discipline has changed the tires on his, but if not, have you guys tried the regular old, go-to 1/10 foams by Contact? Obviously they are no good for off-road, but I’ve found that they make a pretty big difference on pavement...especially on 3S. Still searching for the right set of off-road tires for this thing. I think, like Tomley said, it’s a weight issue as well as this tiny little wheel base on this thing. I’m happy with it for the $100 I paid at launch, though.

There’s an updated transmitter that they’ll send you for free, it improves the range but not the steering. Just change the servo for a jx one.

I own the same model you tested, and I have not had any of the issues you stated. I think you may have gotten a bad car. I always appreciate your reviews. I'm no expert with RC, but mine handles fine and no issues with dropping signal.

the issue was not the car buddy he said that on the video , it was too windy and dropping signal very often , he literally said that on video . and regarding the handling if its your first rc then you will not find a single error in how it handles but if you know something about suspension tunning , the toe are very neutral it makes the tires wear out evenly, but needs toe out in the front tires , and a little bit of positive camber on the rears , it will nake the rear end want to turn , while the front tires will help you out with straight out performance.

RF signals aren’t affected by the wind!

The signal issues were baffling. I was thinking something similar. Somehow the electronics are not happy and poof goes the range. I'm quite happy with my chonky boi WLToys 144002 because... you know... reasons.

Yes Tomley, a lot of complaints about the tires!!! You have to change out the tires for better traction on loose gravel!!

You may do check the servo saver, it may be loose as you cant go straight.

I have changed the receiver and speed control to change the transmitter and have found the handling to be fixed. So not sure if it was the transmitter or esc/receiver combo or both making the handling unpredictable. I have also found the potentiometers on the transmitter to be garbage. 1 out of 100 times the steering would recenter without fiddling with the wheel constantly. With a dumbo rc radio and a flycolor 45a esc the fidgety handling has been tamed.

I finished 9th with 97mph in there challenge there is something about that car I would getting it going straight then the next time out it would be all over the place that car drove me nuts during the challenge much rather speedrun the wltoys

Change the wheels, put some weighted treal beadlocks on, maybe fit that front bumper, might help get the balance better ?? Are the fronte cambered or castered differently from the factory ??

It's a great looking car. but the issue you had when it went out of range and the constant problem with the steering may be radio/receiver problem. It would interesting to install a different radio system and see if it improves.

Yes, a new system would make a massive difference. Problem is it’s all in one. So you’d also need a new ESC

Controller doesn't cover full range, so make sure you press hard against the back plastic. If you got one like mine it'll go faster. The carbon shock towers break easily. The car is difficult to handle, i just bought new tires and gyro and we'll see. 👍

The carbon fiber shock towers are trash. Mine broke the second day of use. I definitely recommend the carbon fiber shock towers with the metal shock towers. Also the remote loses signal a lot. But the car is fun to play with once you get past those issues.

I've notice with my 144s that I converted to brushless, they all want to just spin around. Even with a gyro they are all over the road. I prefer the 124 chassis personally. I'm going to keep one of the 3 144 chassis and finish making a stunt truck then chassis swap the other 2. I love wltoys cars. They are so so so so cheap to fix/work on/upgrade/customize that there's not much out there that can beat them.

I imagine that the carbon fiber chassis changes the weight distribution versus the metal chassis. Most likely culprit for the disappointing handling.

I think that you're probably right about the handling. If it's very light and really powerful, it's going to be sketchy. Amazing what you can get for the money though 😳

BMX track, wanting to swap ends, heavier oil in the front differential might help. The spare parts, the composite chassis, brushless. Is great but sketchy receiver is kind of a deal breaker. And if I did a search, found the graphite chassis and swapped it onto a WPL I'd have the same thing right?

Diffs probably are not sealed? Be intrested in seeing if they are the same as WL toys or perhaps LC racing? Same with the towers... lc racing and WL toys are diffrent shapes but almost the same

I got the brushed version it's absolutely garbage it would be ok if when you let off the throttle it does there is like a delay you let off and it keeps on it for 1-2sec. Also the oversteer is insane

102km/h with a 3200KV motor on 3S .. it's using the 27T pinion isn't it ? Anyway with that signal and bad handling wltoys is still king and a brushed one that you convert yourself is the best by far.
