This information should be given to customers at all local hobby shops, but no, they're still trying to sell 20c rating lipos to run in cars like the kraton 8s and then the customer wonders why the batteries are so swollen. Great video Vas, Thanks

I’ve just order a BNF BOB57, 03 unit with Crossfire and tbs tango 2 as my first ‘proper’ Kwad. Been flying Avata for about 6 months but learning all this is vital for me now. It’s been so easy with dji just plugging my batteries in n not worrying about it.

I'm an experienced hobbyist and I always learn something from watching these videos! Also - correct me if I'm wrong - if you divide the mah rating by 1000, you get the maximum Amps you can charge the battery at. E.G: 5200 mah ÷ 1000 = 5.2 Amps ; so a 5200mah battery can charge up to 5.2 amps.

Very good introduction to lipos, bro. I might have included the Wh, which is a good indicator of stored energy and also correlates well with the amount of fuel in the fueltank. I am writing this, because when I was a rookie, I thought a 2s 5000mAh lipo will give me the same runtime as a 3s 5000mAh. But my Slash proved wrong every time although a lot depends on your throttle finger. 37 Wh vs 55.5 Wh. Being unaware of this, I had to figure this out on my own expense.

I am building Hexacopter with Frame Tarot 80 pro. Which approach is better to choose battery to have long flight time? 1) Single 6S Battery with higher capacity (x)mAh. 2) Parallel connection of two 6S batteries with capacity (x/2)mAh.

For gasoline the higher the octane the cooler the burn. That's why high performance engines run higher octane, to help keep the temperatures down.

Hi Aussie, I am a beginner and I need your advice for running my Proboat 26 now. I'm running the boat with a 2200mAh/45C lipo battery connected with my Dynm3860 30A (peak at 80A) Brushless Marine waterproof ESC with a 2 blades propeller with big tough (for better pick-up). I found the boat is not even going fast even I pull my trigger all the way down! Here is my calculation I've learned from you: 2200/1000 Ah x 45C = 99A which is within the 30-180A operational capacity of my ESC It looks ok in term of math but how come my boat is not accelerating fast enough? What can I do in this case? Please help, thanks.

TheWheels1965 I use XT60’s on everything. I’m using them on 6s, 5000mah, 50c and not an issue at all. I wouldn’t be in a rush to upgrade to XT90’s unless you are running over 8s I imagine 👍💪

The octane analogy doesn't work. Higher octane doesn't equal a bigger burn. The octane rating of gasoline is its resistance to burn. A low compression engine won't run as well on a high octane fuel and vice versa for a high compression with low octane fuel
@AussieRCPlayground
@AussieRCPlayground 4 жыл бұрын
So I've been told... So use a different analogy, like the number of cylinders. It really doesn't matter what you use as long as it makes sense to you.
@petergoodwin2465

@Noobz Threefortyseven That's true , then you can advance the timing for a bigger burn and more power.

Good infor, but one major wrong. The voltage cannot be compared to octane in any way shape or form. Octane is simply a measurement of a fuels resistance to detonation. Octane has zero to do with energy density, burn rate, or flame front speed. If you want to make such a comparison, it would be between say ethanol and petrol with petrol bei g higher voltage as the energy density of petrol is higher than that of ethanol. Let's once and for all kill the myth that octane means a bigger bang and a hotter burn, because nothing could be further from the truth. If an engine does not knock on 95 RON, putting 100 RON in a car will do squat. If the knock sensor retards ignition on 95, yes then, and only then will a higher octane fuel provide more power, assuming that energy density is the same. I will now step down from my soapbox and we can get back to the scheduled program.
