Looking good! Yes they have lovely hard bodies. Iv repainted mine to look like an old camel trophy model. I upgraded the motor to the 370 and has much more crawling power, although slower. Metal diff n axles, oil shocks, top alloy mounting plates. The best mod was mounting the servo using a kit to the axle. It got rid of all steering bump and that awful angle. Great vid thanks

@@tylergoff8169 Its currently on banggood for about £62 i see they say one is a waterproof version? Hmm. Like everything rc prices gone up a bit, i got mine from bg for about £45 a year ago.

Mn99 are top heavy so portal axles would make it worse. I think if you could lower it in stock height it would've been better. I have one coming this week and I'm so excited to modify it by lowering the center of gravity etc...

..... Well done Mate, looks cool. I wonder if the new axes have alternate ratios and one is limiting the other ? place it on it's roof and mark outer tyre (front & rear) position with a while sticker, Advance throttle one revolution on front and compare it with rear. I have one of these on route, waiting to play 'smash up derby' with WPL D12.

I think its just the fact they are cheap ones off ebay and the gear's inside are not smooth. I might attach my drill to them and run it full speed for a bit to see if it can make them run a bit smoother 👍

Since you've put the portal axles on can you not replace them with the originals or has the installation altered the chassis too much? If not, some wheel weights and perhaps a new motor maybe needed to sort this one out. Cheers for sharing this, I've got an MN99s arriving in the post today haha.

I did have to heat up and bend some plastic parts to get them to fit but I could always bend them back. It is nice to have better steering but I think it was better before adding the portals 👍

@@TheYorkshireMix They do look great though, maybe a longer control arm from the steering servo could sort the steering angle out. Not sure, I'm new to all this haha.

Yeah its a fantastic looking car. I will get around to having another look at it soon but for now I've sort of got addicted to buying rc cars again so I've got a few to play with lol. Up to now I think the axial scx24 is 1 of my favourites but the little drift car I've just posted a video on is also great fun. My dog was the same to start with and now he just thinks it's a toy for him lol

Buy some weighted wheels they will help with the top heaviness
