RC MN999, DEFENDER D90, FIRST UPGRADE

Welcome to my first upgrade & test drive video of the new MN999.
It's fairly obvious early on it is an Injora 275mm chassis with an Injora D90 body & some low cost electronics. But I do like Injora as a low cost brand. Also the cost of the parts individually would be more than the introductory price on Aliexpress.
It has 3-speeds. Electronically controlled on the transmitter. Crawling is a bit low on power in 1st gear. But aparentely they can run on 3S which might help.
It's not a great looker. For me the scale of the window height was too low. The lower half of the body is very good & comparable to the team raffee body. So I decided to remove the roof.
I wasn't too sure what styling I was going for. The end result has alot better performance.
Next upgrades will concentrate on the chassis. I will move the Electronics to make way for a full size Lipo battery. (Test on original Lion battery).

Well done! You really do take advantage of the creative possibilities offered by 3D printing. Those mudflaps are a very good example, as is the crate in the back. The metal wheels must help with stability, too, as well as looking tremendous.

Thanks Del, I had some vague idea of style. As the roof line seemed a bit low I thought I would just get rid of that & make an open top pick up. The roll bar was based on my usual D12/MN90 design with a few tweeks. Then just some bars over the cab. So sort've made it up as I went along. The crate was a lucky find on Thingiverse. Wood grain is a really nice touch. I'm happy with the overall outcome. But it still needs some more detail yet. The chassis needs a couple more mods to get it up to speed. I can then run a full size Lipo. And yes the metal wheels have added some nice low down weight. 👍
