I painted my first RC clear body. Sorry I don't actually show the painting, the next body I will. This was lots of fun with the style incorporated, no need to mask the body other than the windows, window mask came with the body. #rcracing #rcpaint #rc #painting

Looks amazing, defs going to try your technique out! Also as for the wing - you could definitely get away with sanding that down using some fine grit sand paper, like 400 I would recommend. Sand it nice and smooth, blow it down and clean with alcohol and give it a fresh spray of black and it'll end up with a much smoother finish. 👍 great work man

Yeah, I'm sure that would of produced a much need clean look. Thanks for adding that tip in. Might need even higher grit as you wouldn't want to accidentally scrape too much off. I would love to see how yours comes out

@EyeOfRah
@EyeOfRah 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks I appreciate it. What color will you do the stripes? I would recommend making sure a good masking is applied so no bleed through. My belief is start with the darkest colors. If you start with lighter colors the darker colors over the lighter colors have a tendency to bleed through and change the color of the lighter color.

@EyeOfRah
@EyeOfRah 2 жыл бұрын
@@rcstumpjumpers2049 that would look really nice. are you using cans or air spray? To get the cleanest lines you may have to mask first and do that color 1st step. Me though I would lay down the masking where the strips are and do last, but the problem with that is you pray for a clean tape pull once you apply the colors you want for the body. So 2 ways to achieve. I'm excited for your style and hope to see it

@EyeOfRah
@EyeOfRah 3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for the reply and that's a good question? I did it while it was wet I wouldn't say like I sprayed it and then did it immediately but I did spray it and basically took the time to put the bag on my hand and then do it. If I remember correctly I did one panel at a time, not spraying the whole car, I would do one side with spray paint and then use the bag and then do the other side and use the bag.

Hi, yes it was just a Walmart bag from shopping there. I layed the black then crumpled the bag in hand and was like sponge dabbing it. I didn't wait long to do it was basically a spray down, put can down, crumple up and hold bag then pick car up and dab at it till I got the look I wanted. I do it like this ....but what ever works best for you......✌🏽 1. Optional peal or gold clear and or translucent iridescent paint of your choice. Or clear flakes. 1. Transparent color of your choice. 2. Gold or silver applied with plastic bag 3. Back with Black
@dolobrolic6066

It still looks awesome.......but if you do it with the transparent paint. It would look red and dark red instead of red and black. The red and dark red looks deeper.
@EyeOfRah
@EyeOfRah 2 жыл бұрын
@@dolobrolic6066 the idea was to have 2 separate colors and get a marble effect. I think doing the silver or gold flake first is too get a flake look as I've seen with flake you don't go so heavy to make a dark color either gold or silver. Both paints was a metallic color so I think that helped make it blend well. If it was a matte black then yeah I would probably do the opposite, as the black would be too dark for metallic flake to blead through, also I think the amount of coats would be no more than 2 passes with it being applied last. It's just my understanding because it's inside the body that you do reverse colors, not same as outside like on paper or doing outside of body. I do know you will accomplish 2 different effects if doing dark color first and ending with lighter color as opposed to light color first to dark. So many options and not enough lexan body's paint and cash to really enjoy trying the many different techniques.
