Huge RUN Cam Fan, love my Swift, very sturdy stuff. The channel mode control here with the Wifi ...... Handy ... Oscar L. has some great side by side images and Runcam Seems brighter than Gopro, I'd give up 4k for 1080 at 60 and being more Hobby oriented I like the RunCam 3 ... cheers!

Sorry this comes late on the heels of your post (much appreciated by the way), but I wonder if you or anyone has linked none of these up to a Pixracer and if so how it all worked? I get that I can use a UART port (likely Telem2) and I don't see an issue with the wiring, but wonder if we can get the autopilot to trigger the camera. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the video. Thought I would add a critical note to this otherwise informative memo. The remote cable for the RUNCAM 2/3 is no longer available. I contacted RUNCAM and as you might anticipate they really don't share much of a concern. The RUNCAM 2/3 both arrive new with remote control capability...however, without a specifically manufactured cable no remote control is possible.

I don't use an action camera as an FPV camera. Too many things could go wring with the more complex action camera that could make a nice FPV flight into something a loss less pleasant..

I like the RunCam but they do not make this cable any longer. They have not responded to me if they have a replacement. I was going to just use a micro cable and cut the usb end off and make my own but I can’t seem to find out the purpose of the little circuit board on this camera. If anyone has found another option please let me know.

I did get something to work with the 3s, but I sold that rig about a year ago, and gave them the wiring schematic when I did. I had it set up with a primary fpv camera for flight, and used the 3s on a 3 axis gimbal for high res video, with a video switch to go back and forth between the two. There was a decent delay, but as long as I wasn't trying to rip around, it worked fine. This was on a bigger 650 quad, so it wasn't like I was doing any acro with it. Wish I would have hung on to the schematic now.

I hear the 'tv out' could be used for fpv vtx which would be nice, but it is 40-50ms, is this amount of latency obvious / prohibitive in use?

If you're racing, then you might baulk at that. In practice, for most FPV flying it'll be great. I used to fly with a 808#16 keychain camera and that had about 160ms of lag. If you want to fly acro and fast/close to things then the less lag the better (and it feels nicer too)!

I believe when using s-bus most receivers still output their pwm values. Maybe you can just use one pwn channel and not assign anything to that channel in the flight controller...

For the XSR (as per Painless360's reply :) only via FC channel forwarding (or external PWM converter); However for the X4RSB, you can direct connect. You'll need to flash the X4RSB with the CPPM firmware, which gives you mode options during binding via use of a jumper. Same technique as per the X6R and X8R receivers. The X4RSB CPPM firmware's jumper controlled binding modes configure different outputs on the 4 output channels. I usually use the third mode (listed in the CPPM firmware X4RSB manual), which gives you the following: port1:CPPM1-8, port2:ch9, port3:ch10, port4:SBUS. So i use SBUS on port 4, and also have the use of channels 9 & 10 directly as PWM outputs. Nice.

The manual talks about shortening the life of the battery using it powered all the time (see the review video). The internal battery lasts for ages..

Please tell me how to connect this camera to FPV glasses or a monitor? Can I get a picture from her directly, or can this camera only shoot while riding or flying? How to get a good picture in FPV glasses. I have a set of FPV, Eachine Ev800d + TX-03, but the quality is very disgusting.

You can connect the video signal directly to the inputs of some goggles but I've not used those goggles and are not the ones that I recommend - see my video from August on my KIt picks for all budgets that perform well.. Best of luck!

I'm using this cable on the Split 2S now, but it doesn't seem to work the same way. Flicking the switch does indeed switch the camera between photo and video mode, but activating the switch and leaving it activated just makes the camera switch between modes back and forth continuously, until I turn the switch off again. Only when I play with the switch seemingly randomly by activating it for different lengths at a time I can get it to randomly take pictures or start and stop recording. Anyone have any ideas where I could start looking for a fix? I'm playing around with the PWM settings but it doesn't get me anywhere... I have updated the camera to the latest firmware, I have soldered the wires correctly and I'm using a FrSky X9D Plus, I've plugged the cable directly into the receiver as I'm using it on an RC car, so there's no flight controller involved.
