Runcam 2 - FPV

Bought mine 3 to 4 years ago and never could understand how to get it to work. I just wanted to strap it to a fixed wing trainer and record. Now thanks to you and Painless 360 I am getting the hang of it. Funny thing is I gave my grandson one before I got mine and he tells me it works great ( darn kids). By the way your automobile looks fantastic.

Hi, What fpv transmitter is that? Is that 16:9 format? Do you have a link?

I was using an old Boscam VTx but these days I use something like this TS5823L - bit.ly/2s5fk5Q. Camera TV Out and DVR are 16:9 but I don't think the VTx cares about aspect ratio

I just got it also, the battery cover is difficult to get off. Banggoods don't carry extra battery anymore.

I have a RC2, never thought about setting it to FPV though. I have mixed feelings about mine, countless lost hat cam shots because I didn't press the button to record properly.

Yes you can leave the battery in, but it's not recommended by Runcam

I bought 2 Runcam 2. The very first one wasn’t working at all, I changed it. The next one is working perfectly since this moment. The second one is working BUT no video signal live available (impossible to use it to fly FPV). I was lazy so I didn’t change it. I use it on my cap. Conclusion 66 % of deficient products… I bought 6 Mobius cameras… I always received full working cameras (but the video quality is a little beyond the Runcam 2).

Hello Leon. The Runcam Video Out cable is connected to a video transmitter. The goggles have a built it Video receiver. The Wifi is separate and operates via a smart phone app.

The app wifi link only works within a few meters and is very laggy, only for setting up. Onboard footage is actual FPV video transmission using a video transmitter and goggles

HD video would be very similar. FPV......I would rather use a dedicated FPV camera than either this or the Split, but I guess the Split is the best of the two.

Hi Andrew! My trusty Mobius has decided to pass on the ghost. Now I'm searching for another affordable actioncam (in fact, two actioncams). Are you still liking the Runcam 2 or is there a different flavor that you'd recommend?

Only Mobius C2 and Runcam 2 in the flat form. Runcam 2 audio is useless. Wouldn't recommend the Mobius Maxi. Maybe look at Runcam 5 although it's a cube.

The Mobius has Audio and sharp Video from what I have read, but I would like to see what you think of it. The price of the Mobius seems pretty reasonable . Thank you .....Ron... Depends on what you need. Mobius (nice video best audio but no wifi or 60fps), Runcam 2 (wifi app, 60 fps but bad audio) and Foxeer 1 (OK audio, super sharp video, Rx triggering, but PC setup only)

really little latency, almost not noticeable, I don't have any issues flying FPV with it, don't know if it would be a problem flying a quadcopter race, but for normal airplane flying its perfect.

I don't recommend Run Cam, because after you purchase the camera, they removed the application of Google app, now my run cam which used otg to plug is useless! !!
