the Radiomaster MT12 needs more attention! it beats the new $700 radios other company makes.

The MT12 actually has hall effect sensors on the steering and throttle instead of potentiometers, basically it measures magnetic fields insted of a electrical connection. So technically it should NEVER get the grinding and grittiness of other radios as the potentiometers wear out.

I went to the FlySky G7P for my upgraded Tx. Tiny Rxs available with built in LED controllers. Modified mine to have a potentiometer for rear steer down on the grip. Diggin the DG shirt. Crazy how big DG got during covid.

Why doesn’t anyone ever include the Radiolink transmitters in their reviews… it’s such an awesome radio with unlimited settings and controls

If you take the tqi apart and grease the trigger around the spring, it will improve the smoothness 100%. I’ve done it to multiple transmitters. Love your videos

Interesting... I'll give that a shot. I use tqi just for my maxx. Gt5 on everything else.

Spektrum is still my goto, but I do like my MT-12. I just wish some of the functions were a bit easier to set up and assign, it still has a lot of its air-functions, and a firmware update making it more of a ground radio.

The TQi menu is extremely convoluted, but....30 model memory is a nice feature of you own multiple traxxas cars. Bonus with the Bluetooth, but it does work on the trx4m, and you can get more steering and a more fluid throttle control.

One other advantage of a good aftermarket radio - one controller for many rigs. So instead of having a billion radios around for a billion rigs, the radio count can be significantly reduced - meaning more space for an additional billion rigs. ;-) ROFL

Mt12 rant here. Got it 6 months ago. Setup was delayed. Started to bind models got both elrs and the 4-1 elrs from my drones. That said Reality when I rarely go out hiking trailing crawling I simoly prefer a tiny fms type remote to hang on my neck and knock it k around knowing I have a dozen more of those tiny remotes. At home for fun I use the mt12 on only 2-3 rigs. Then comes my 4 year old son he can’t carry mt12 and also preferrs the fly sky tiny remotes fms type. That said I love tinkering and one day will use the mt12. Moral smaller simple radios for crawling The fancy big one may do all your rigs into one but what if someone else shared your rig and you need a second remote. Considering all this get the mt12 if you a geek like me who likes to have the latest and doesn’t mind a small learning curve to set it up on open tx and edge tx. I learn basics from my FPV DRONE DAYS so wasn’t too hard. Any and all radios are good enough for 99% percent people. Period

Any update on the quality of the newer batches of flysky gt5? I have an older one and love it, but some day I'll have to replace it and I really hope they tighten their quality control back up again.

MT12 is a true computer radio. The only 2 assigned channels are throttle and steering. But you can reassign and MAP them too. The two main inputs are hall effect sensors so incredibly accurate and reliable.

Radio quality makes a HUGE difference in your R/C experience! I have the Futaba 3PRKA which is their "lowest end" surface radio. It really doesn't have any more adjustments than most RTR radios, HOWEVER! the quality of the throttle trigger and steering felt better than any RTR radio and to be honest, a lot of "high end" models from other manufacturers.

I went with the Fly sky NB4. Lots of features including two batteries. I am thinking of upgrading to the new NB4+ Pro. I like the user interface better than Radio Master. Easier to navigate IMO also up to 18Ch. I currently use 8 with my TRX4 Defender w/4Ch wireless light kit. I want 4 more channels for additional lights and maybe one more for 4W steering. I am almost finished my computer upgrades/repair. I can put that new Castle Creations esc on the list. I have your Puller Pro 2200. I shorted out my Mamba X a couple of years back. I had been using your Revolver 1800 (OG) with both the SW4 and X. Even w/o the sensor it is very smooth in 1st gear with the SW4 (the Puller Pro). I liked the video you did with it. I am putting away $300 to get your new servo and the CC esc. The radio can wait for a lower price, I don't think at their current price they sell too well in China. Thanks for your videos, it helps.

I'm one of those crazy individuals that enjoy keeping a couple FM radios around. There's just something about a period correct build... But (just like my one nitro) I mainly keep them around to remind myself why I don't buy them anymore 😂

I've had my MT-12 since it was released. I have the 4 in 1 version and it wouldn't pair with any of my receivers (Redcat, TQI, Radiolink, Flysky) When I used the Radiomaster receiver that came with it I would get a loss of signal when I was closer than three feet of the receiver. Firmware updates have been few and far between to the point that I've given up on using it. I really prefer the Radiolink RC6GS and the FS GT5. If any of you have any tips please let me know.

Just no comparison - the MT12 is light years ahead of the Axial and Traxxas! Like am32 ESCs, this is the future of radio technology. Radiomaster certainly needs to work on ease of use though, many people are just intimidated by its complexity. Still, great radio at a great price!

Futaba or nothing for me. Futabas have treated me well for 37 years. I've never had a runaway, a brownout, or an issue period with them. All of them still work too, even my Magnum Jr. from 1987. Ha! They feel so much better than all the other cheap radios on the market. The only other radio I'd consider would be a SANWA (Airtronics). RTR radios I throw away or give away. lol

MT12 throttle doesn't have a spring, I believe it has magnets that pick up the movement, or some such technical method of operation, this does not have any friction and does not wear out. The MT12 is a big learning curve but highly capable, it did take me a while to get a profile set up (being a newbie didn't help) which I simply copy for each car and adjust as required. And I know I can get far more technical should I need to. Value for money I can't see what can beat this transmitter, you'd spend 2 to 3 times more at least from what I can see.
