AWESOME TRIBUTE TO SCRAPPY!!! Be mindful of 3d printed battery holder melting as it's so close to motor! Maybe cooling from airflow will suffice.

Wonderful, the CG is very important, if the head of the airplane is so light, it difficult to control. But you should be careful with the temperature of the battery 🔋 next to the engine

Well, I was wrong about the wheel covers, I was very suspicious in that they may have been causing some undesirable wash. All the adjustments were perfect, what a difference it made. Great stuff Marko! 👍😎

On 4:10 and 5:10 in video you can see the tail. The elevator's deflection area is trimmed to "pulling up" the aircraft nose. It is not in horizontal position in horizontal flight. I think CG is now a little to front. My opinion is that you should try to put CG a litlle back and put the deflection part of elevator to horizontal position. Less drag 😉 and more controllable aircraft. Otherwise, compliments on a marvelous piece of work.

Glad it worked out night and day difference. Knew that cg was tok aft for that setup...had way too much tail authority..and the slats war too much at speed and balooning..I was wrong about the landing gear acting as a canard tho....I'm sure that's a relief to not have to adjust that......on a high wing with wide wing short fuse it definitely benificial to have a nose dominant cg

I thought moving that battery to the nose would be too much, but the plane flies great now. Did seem to use a bit up elevator most of the time to keep altitude, so maybe a bit nose-heavy now, but on the other hand, it flies really nice now

What? The dual slats don't extend and retract with the flaps/flaperon droop? No wonder it didn't work. And that motor doesn't sound like 600 scale horse torques either! 😂 All kidding aside glad you got it flying right. Been following Patey since the early Draco days and all the way through the Scrappy build. Would love to have a good scale Scrappy myself. Thanks for sharing!!!

Such a nice build, hope I could do something similar one day! I see a little flutter with the wing struts at 4:48, and maybe need a little stiffening up, in case they vibrate loose?
@luisamarchetti9059

Putting the CG at 25% wing cord it has been a wise decision. Then after several flights you can start to move backward the CG at 1% at time (less is better) until you reach a position that suit your piloting style. For the slats I suggest to give a look at "The basics of R/C aircraft design" by Andy Lennon. This book is a must in every aircraft modeler library.

this is an amazing build i found this on thingiverse and want to print it but i want to scale it down and run an electric motor. i cant afford the big stuff lol. what percentage should i scale it to? i need it to be atleast 60 to fit on my printer.

@markoroolaid I'm working on the shark aero right now still waiting on filament to get the rest of it finished. I've been benge watching Mike Pateys scrappy build and it's just amazing. I may try to cut it into more parts so I can get it as big as I can them gas engines arnt to expensive are they? Maybe I can find one used. I've thought about recording build videos but just haven't been able to bring myself to do it. I saw you built the wing out of wood and foam board. Are there print files for the wing to be printed?

@markoroolaid can you tell me what part is the biggest part on the plane? I need to beable to scale the biggest part to fit so I know where to start. Also do the wings print in one peice? I figure I'd have to cut it into a couple prints. This is my first scale down plane but I'll figure it out. If you got any tips for me thanks..
