The fastest stock truck I've ever had was the helion avenge 10mt it did 48mph right out of the box on 3s stock pinion. One if my favorite tenth scale trucks.

Got my DB Pro today. Did the 3S conversion, per the manual. Put fully charged 3S 100C battery in, ran less than 5min, and stopped moving, but steering works. When I looked at ESC it's RED, and getting chimes. What's going on, this thing is brand new, and can't even run 1 battery pack in it. So disappointed and out $500.

Good stuff Vas In a case like this where the car does not quite get there, it would make for a cool vid if you did a run showcasing what pinion would be needed. It would be great fun to watch, and also help the new guys out. I suspect thst a 17 tooth do it in this case. Thanks for the vid Vas.

This runs on 4s with the same ESC just need to install a lower kv motor

I never understood why these can’t go 3S out of the box and not have to change the pinion! Kinda deceptive I ran it on 3S and didn’t know it takes only 2S . So I think I blew the center diff and it’s leaking oil all over the chassis!😡 Could this have caused it?

Have you turned up the ESC to maximum timing and punch

If you turn timing up to max, you will hurt things. And with such a long runup, punch will not matter. He could add 5-10 degrees of timing, but more than that, and things start to cook.

ABOlsen80X I was under the impression the ESC could handle 4s ? I had an scbe once I agree it got hot under the cover of that buggy,! Surely a Motor fan will help? What temps is the Motor at anyway? I ran mine with a Castle Sidewinder SCT/ 3800kv combo. With a castle motor fan. I think it’s either a 15t or 16t pinion mod 1 pitch. It did get hot i butchered some of the plastic behind the drivers head for air .

@@nastynick886 The issue will not be with the ESC, but rather the motor. Even when you increase timing a bit, running temps will go up significantly. Setting timing to max will cook the motor. Give it a 16 tooth pinion and 5 degrees of timing, and you will run 50.

Not trying o be a smart arse but I have been using radars for a long time and I think you are suffering parallax error with your testing set up which is why the GPS is different, I think I would rely on the GPS.

Indeed. So .any variables with radar guns. I used to use a Stalker Pro when testing powerboat speeds, and even without the parallel factor, I've seen it being off by as much as 20 mph. This was not even measuring small objects like an RC, this was measuring 35-45' boats running from 70 tp 160+ mph. We've even found that the material and colour of the object can have an effect. Needless to say that I haven't used a radar gun in years. If anything, they need to be laser.
