Just updated my 2014 Deadbolt. Was virtually stock all these years. Now got some Desert Lizard shocks, metal 4 Links, beadlocks and proline krawler tires.

I like the deadbolt, so I broke down and splurged - $300 is splurging on my budget. As Scale Builder Guild put it : Deadpool 2 : Ha! I think I will love this one too. I plan on putting a winch, etc. on later, but that will be much later.

Something you should know being an owner of the trail honcho.. front avles are actually called dog bones and the issue with these are extended time in full lock will degrade new style c hubs on the axles and if you crawl a lot like I do ..... spend the cash and get stock axial u joint front axle shafts ..... that being said why change? Dog Bones bind at high angles and plastics are weak and prone to breakage.... just a heads up on the miss leading advise of your choice ... 30 bucks for joints and 50 for joints and new housing.. you do the math! I do love the show and keep up the great work.. just trying to save folks alot of trouble down the road!

Only problem I have had with my gen 1 deadbolt which is now about 1 and a half years old and has probably close to 100 miles or more was the metal on the drive shafts rust with Light water or even snow getting on them. The other problem was one of the plastic gears in the gearbox striped at about 50+ miles. Oh and the gear that connects the drive shafts to the each other had all three of the screws loosen. Sorry if I didn’t correctly name what gears they were, don’t know the names besides pinion and spur gears

Deadbolt is suspiciously similar to a Scout 800.... Would've been cool to see some recognition there.

You didn't SCRATCH it on that Hill.... You got *TRAIL TROPHIES!!!* 😎😉 Axial did a GREAT JOB of keeping the Deadbolt II at the SAME Price Point as the original. KUDOS!!! 🍻🍺👏👏👏👏👏 Yes, it's got Plastic Links - but they are MUCH stronger than ANY SCX10 One. Josh (Harley Designs), beat the CRAP out of the Honcho II for over 6 Months, even Competed - with those same Plastic Links!! Axial did their Homework, engineering better Plastic on those Links. They have just a little flex, but NOTHING like the "Wet Noodles" on the Original. The AVERAGE Guy shouldn't have to replace them any time soon, unless they REALLY want Metal Links (or are one of those "Know-it-all" Types!!) I can name at least FOUR Channels, but I'll be nice! 😉 And the One-Piece Axles.... People whining about them, most have NEVER even tried one with those Axles!!! 😱😮 SURE, you can't upgrade the C-Hubs, but if someone thinks that the World will end if they don't - go buy a new early SCX10 II Axle Housing! About $15 at most Hobby Outlets. Everything swaps into it from the one piece, and you can get the C-Hubs of your choice. Easy Peasy!! The Original SCX10 almost NEEDED upgrades, for any rough running. GOOD Rig still, but those Links were almost as prone to breakage as the Dogbones in the Front Axle! Like I said, they're STILL great Rigs. I'm not getting rid of mine anytime soon. But the new one is just Better, right out of the gate!! Carmine 💥 ⛽

over 3 minutes and u havent taken it out of the box!! jeez shoulda fast forwarded that... show us some footage of it on the trails!! wondering if i should keep my scx10 jk, or either get the honcho scx10II or the scx10II rolling chasis kit, and id prolly just take my savoc server n esc n motor out of my spare parts or even take them off my current scx10 jk... please let me know what you would recommend? is the honcho pretty good w speed? i remember i always wanted my jk to go faster, right now im testing out a 17 turn firebolt motor from hpi... would that make it faster? also could you do a slipper rebuilt video? for some reason mine is sticking out now and the cover wont fit over it... Please help me out and let me know what i should do... logically im thinking the kit would be the best and i can put the stock ecs and tactic server back into the original and put all my upgraded parts on the scx10II kit, and add all my aluminum upgrades? i would be so grateful if you would be so kind as to give me your opinion on this matter.... what would you do in my shoes? thanks god bless

I keep forgetting how terrible the stock equipment on axial rtr kits are. Plastic links, plastic servo horn, glued tires, plastic shocks, and dog bone drive shafts up front. No wonder my scx10 is 70% upgrades.

Guess I'll be the only negative guy again, but it seems to me like they wanted to suck as much money out of this and the honcho as they could. Can't upgrade the c-hubs or knuckles, plastic transmission gears, cheaper controller on the deadbolt no side rails, cheaper bumpers. Whatever, this is not what I wanted from Axial. I'm glad so many are gushing about getting less for more.
@PYROxSYCO6 жыл бұрын
ArielsSmartyPants I seems to me they went for the redcat market if I'm correct. Affordable with less features. The good part is you can upgrade it to have those things you were wanting with after market parts, right?
@ArielsSmartyPants6 жыл бұрын
Doesn't seem that way to me, redcat is much cheaper, the price is comparable to the gen7 pro, which has floorboards, side rails, metal parts, luggage rack and a lot of scale pieces. Why cheapen the axles so they aren't upgradable without a total replacement? Axial doesn't want to sell even their own c-hubs and knuckles? To be honest I wish they'd kept making the 1st gen honcho and deadbolt over these watered down versions.
@roadrunner6816 жыл бұрын
the reason i see this is most people that buy this truck will not be like us, they will just want to drive the truck around but the truck will be a gateway to axials higher end models is probably what there thinking
@rodpolice6 жыл бұрын
@@ArielsSmartyPants Finally someone saying the truth! Totally agree with you.. Plastic links is fine but those axles, though and plastic gears.. Axial is starting to look like Apple now.
