Graeme flying his early 1940s designed free flight plane converted to two channel radio control. Has a 1950s vintage 1.5 cc glow plug motor and pinch fuel line cut off. This is a design by Gordon Murray.

So do I. Graeme has done a great job in building and finishing off this plane as well.

If ever a model cried out for electric power, this is the one. Glow engines are noisy, messy and do not often start as easily as yours did. An electric starter is necessary equipment .They also sometimes stop at the worst moments. One thing, though, the aroma of burned castor oil is addicting. It's the aroma of my childhood. Great airplane, mate. Good flying and cheers.

Thanks. The owner and builder of this plane has an almost entirely electric fleet, but this one is for nostalgia. Brings back early memories for me too.

@@MrWaz11 Of course, I appreciate the nostalgia aspect of using a glow engine on this airplane. However, for me, not all of the memories of wrestling with glow engines, except for their delicious aroma, are pleasant.

Electric, no thanks I’ll stick with four stoke glow engines. Been flying electrics since 2000 and glow engines since I was a kid. To me nothing compares to a nice running glow engine!

Nice flight. What size Fuji and is the wing built like the original?

Thanks. Finally got to talk to the pilot. An 099 Fuji 1.6 cc and the wing is modified for a Clark Y section.
