You don't have to solder anything. You can take the flat copper pins off the SPAL black connector and just put them into the KTM white one...
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah I was looking at the pins and the way they lock into each connector is slightly different and I didn’t want a chance of losing the fan so I went with swapping the whole connector.

What a great video ! Did that actually helped to keep the ktm cooler. Also would you mind telling me how does it perform in the track after that modification, does it actually run cooler and less prompt to engine blowing up ? Thank you in advance
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! It keeps the bike much cooler, the temperature bars are now consistently 2 bars below the upper "hot" marking. I haven't taken the bike to the track yet as I'm waiting to pull the trigger on some suspension but I'll definitely report back.

@GarageAddiction I am planning to install 2 Spal fan on my KTM RC 390. I noticed in some other videos that you can just move the fan pin to the KTM connecter. So here is my question: Can i connect 4 pins in the same connecter (positive postive pair) and ( negative negative pair), will that work? Or do i need to cut the wires and solider them? Here is the other video look at 12:04 mins

@vincentvillarojo814
@vincentvillarojo814 4 жыл бұрын
It would have been better if you havent cut the wires of the spal fan. You can just easily remove the white plug of the old fan and transfer it to the new one so that it the wires remain original. Nice video btw 👌

Thanks! Yeah I pulled the pins and the way they locked into the connectors was different between them and I chose to take the route that would hopefully keep them from pulling out over time. It’s totally possible to just repin them for sure!

Hi bro. I purchased a Helix Rad cap 1.6 bar, and my coolant from the radiator leaks. I think the spring are soft compared to the stock. Is your spring soft too? Or is this a faulty item I purchased?
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like a faulty cap, mine requires about as much effort as the stock to compress and get in place and it doesn't leak from the cap at all.

Can i replace the radiator cap while the coolant is full? I scared it might spill out the coolant from the coolant reservoir as the coolant reservoir is placed higher than the radiator

If you clamp the line leading to the rad you can swap the caps with the bike on its side stand, you might loose a tiny bit when you open it but not much at all.

@@GarageAddiction Yess, Clutch lever play and as well in Engine side clutch play
@GarageAddiction

@@cah7925 as long as it's fully releasing and engaging that's the best it can be. Big adjustments happen at the engine arm and small ones on the lever. Personally I like my clutch to engage almost as soon as I start letting it out. I know others that prefer it closer to the end of the lever sweep but that's just preference.

I kind of touched on it in a vlog but It's roughly the same volume as the stock fan, no noticeable vibrations, it's on for much less time and usually only at stop lights or in traffic. With the radiator cap and the fan the bike is regularly 2 bars below the hot line.

The radiator cap helps raise the boiling point of your coolant and may solve your issue. With my experience on this bike you will probably still get overflow issues unless you improve the fan or radiator for overall cooling.
