@@errgo2713 Back when imaging and recording was very expensive, images and recordings were made for special occasions. Not like today when literally anyone can make one in a second. Because it was special, it was not wasted on banalities, and banalities are sometimes what shows us regular, normal behaviour.

As I understand, this is a video put together for an historic phonograph convention some years back. It is hysterical.

From what I can tell, this is an authentic video from 1900. The people in the video do very much resemble, and I think are, the people that the video says they are. The men look like the photographs of personages William Sinkler Darby www.recordingpioneers.com/RP_DARBY1.html and Theodore Bernard Bernbaum www.recordingpioneers.com/RP_BIRNBAUM1.html. Unfortunately, according to the Wikipedia information, the original "Nipper" died in 1895, so this is apparently a substitute dog, though perhaps related and/or also named "Nipper." To me this video appears to be being made for an advertisement for the Gramophone company, which acquired the rights to "Nipper," and "His Master's Voice" in 1899/1900 (see the Wikipedia article:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nipper).

This can't be the original because the original photo was of Nipper listening to Edison's cylinder phonograph. And the original HMV painting was made 2 years after Nipper passed away.

Nipper dies in September 1895 , his head was completely white with only dark ears. This dog has a dark spot on his forehead. this is not the real Nipper.
