Hey RC Girl, You ROCK! Fun watching you demo these planes. I want one really bad because of you and your "I can do this attitude"! I'm an old sail plane guy here in your area. Electric flight and all the tech really helps even if you have RC flight experience. The old days of buy, build and crash was expensive and disappointing. This is soooooo much cheaper and the planes come home in one piece! It's fun to watch you as you learn different skills. Thanks for inspiration! C Gul

I just found you on KZbin and watched your video on the Blade 120 heli and now this one. I think you are very coordinated and skillful seeing how well you fly these two aircraft as a beginner. I'm impressed. It's one thing when the aircraft is flying calmly but when the wind or something causes it to do things you don't expect and you can react and keep it from crashing that's another thing. That's a good pilot! Fantastic video!

That is awesome that you are branching out into flight! I dabbled in it about 15 years ago with limited success, but last year I decided to dive back in head first. I watched a ton of Flite Test videos and learned as much as I could. I bought a Taranis radio and used it with some sims. I built the FT Tiny Trainer and was able to get the hang of basic 4-channel flight. The real breakthrough happened after I joined a local flying club where I could share the sky with folks that have been in the hobby for decades. I can't recommend clubs enough. Anyways, congrats on your successful maiden and I look forward to following along in your journey!

When I learnt to fly, before any assistance electronics, I found that it's a good idea to fly a constant circuit. I did left hand circuits for about 4 sessions (days) . Then I did Touch & goes which prepare you for landing. The reason for the left hand circuits was so that when you got into trouble you had an automatic routine that you didn't have to concentrate on to recover your confidence. I learnt in 1992.

Got my Grandson one of these - he was maybe 10 yrs old at that time. First flight, he flew it way too high and it went out of sight. We kept hitting the panic button and hoped for the best. After searching for about 1 hr, I found it sitting upright in the corner of a farmer's field about a half mile away. Not a scratch on it. This is a perfect beginner's plane.

A few days ago I watched a Horizon Hobbies video advertising the eFlite F-18 hornet, and now I have to have it. It isn't a want, it's a must, BUT I have to learn how to fly a plane first. The one in your video I may have to get to learn. When I get an understanding and feel comfortable with it, then I'll get that F-18. I'll probably get a higher tier radio than the DX6 because if I buy one plane, I'll have 4 when I'm done....at least. Lol. When I got my first surface RC, I said to myself "this is all I need" now 8 trucks, and 1 boat in, I know what to expect. There is 3 left that I want and that's not including the F-18.

Thinking about dipping my toes into RC planes, watching my first flight video, and loving it! From here it looks like a small directional breeze could be helpful, it really slows the plane going against the wind, which should make landing a bit easier. (I think) Looks to be an entertaining hobby, and much easier to learn on compared to the nitro RC planes my father flew when I was a child over 30 years ago. Thanks!

Hi, I flew mine outside for the first time today. Ground handling isn't very easy, but doable with low RPM spurts. Flying it turns left very predictable, but right turns are about half/three quarters as good. I stayed at less than full throttle most of the time to save on battery time, but also I was flying in a parking lot that is maybe 20m wide by 80m long and fenced. I think the airplane might be more fun as I fly it more. I don't have a camera person to take videos.

If you are new to rc planes, keep in mind the small planes are harder to fly than a bigger one. I had a Mini J3 piper cub like the one in this video 24" wingspan, that thing was a real handful even in minor wind, the smaller and lighter your plane, the more wild it will control. Flying is harder than you think, start with a simulator to save yourself alot of money and don't get discouraged if you crash

Please mention that there is a difference between Basic RFT and completely ready to fly (according to Hobby Zone). My Hobby Zone RTF plane came without the battery and as a result does not have to comply with the FAA ruling for only manufacturing remote ID ready planes since the end of 2022. Additionally, Hobby Zone has currently no plans to supply remote ID solutions. Of course, they did not mention this when I bought the plane and it would be nice to know this kind of stuff. It is a beginner plane afterall.

Good video. It looks like you have the same windy conditions as where I live. I've quit flying RC planes as I only get about 10 days a year when conditions are ok to fly. The same goes for drones. Oh well that's one of the downfalls of living on the coast.
