@@Rchelicopterfun you bet! I need to make a "Flindstone flier" rig for the Huey. I think that's a good idea before I try to mount it in the fuse. Wish I had not installed the interior first like the manual suggests. I'm gonna have to cut a hatch in the bottom to add ballast I think. Anyway. Can't wait to see more EC130 flights! My brother flies that exact bird in Las Vegas and I got to go up with him last summer. Lots of fun.

I like that way to build models, neat and tidy ! Great works ! I have a question regarding receiver positioning , I saw that u place the receiver antenna at the font of the frame, have u check the RSSI and VFR % when the heli is flying away from u , will the carbon frame and mechanics cause signal drop ?
@Rchelicopterfun2 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter, The RX antennas are actually at the back of the frame mounted to the FBL gyro plate (shown in the build video kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3W1o2qkaL-kask around time index 8:45). RX antenna positioning is always a compromise and a deep topic - way too much to cover in a simple YT comment response. I have a full page on my website covering it in detail: www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-antenna.html To answer your question however, I always do range checks with any model and most certainly this one. Like all of them, I'll lose practical visual range long before RF control range regardless of orientation.

I have been looking to get into scale helicopters, but I have no experience with building. Is there a specific model you would recommend for a beginner, or maybe some advice on how to start learning a build like this?
@Rchelicopterfun Жыл бұрын
You first learn on Pod & boom (you never mentioned how much experience you have flying collective pitch RC helicopters). You can't learn to fly a larger collective pitch heli on scale (too fragile, to heavy and too costly). If you can already fly a fairly large collective pitch heli however (500 or larger) and rarely crash, then you can progress into larger scale. I cover options and suggestions on my Scale RC Helicopter Page on my site: www.rchelicopterfun.com/scale-rc-helicopters.html As that page states, most people start with a scale fuselage that fits one of their existing Pod & Boom helicopters and slowly progress at your speed up to models like this from Roban, Vario, Alterbaum, etc.
@johnblythe64532 жыл бұрын
Quite a lovely machine John so do you use a certain flight controller for your heli,s how do you handle altitude control ? is it all throttle or the f/c ? i know when i am training the use of throttle can be very tiring as i need to concentrate on positioning of the heli .Thanks for great video,s .
@Rchelicopterfun2 жыл бұрын
@John Blythe - I'm using the Bavarian Demon 3X flybarless system. I go over the electronics pairing in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5TUZZ2NbK-Jl9E Like all collective pitch helicopters, I control my lift vector with collective pitch only, not throttle. Throttle/head speed is fixed and governed. Only electronic flight management offered by the Bavarian Demon is cyclic stability (replaces the mechanical flybar) and of course tail gyro. 🙂

hi John.....very nice Scale heli.....witch Roban model would you recommend
@Rchelicopterfun Жыл бұрын
That is impossible for me to answer for the simple reason I don't know what large scale RC helicopter building and flying experience you already have. For example, I wouldn't recommend any Roban model if you haven't built and flown a larger scale heli before. All of Roban's super scale 700 & 800 series are classified as requiring advanced level building skills. If you have ample amounts of larger scale helicopter building & flying experience however, then I would suggest getting whichever Roban scale fuselage model you like the best. They all use the same basic Roban HSM mechanics platform, so they are all more or less equal in terms of mechanical quality. Of course, the more complex the mechanics (as is the case with Fenestron or angled tail drive or multi-bladed heads), the more difficult & maintenance intensive they become. As the engineering adage goes "complexity hampers both execution & reliability".

@Rchelicopterfun2 жыл бұрын
I have another video with faster flight showing the tail performance better: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3jVnaSpocmZbK8 Yaw rate on mine is more or less consistent in both directions, but no question it will yaw to the right with greater ease going with the direction of the reactive torque. It's just way more efficient in that direction and won't pull as much power - just like a full size machine. I find if I run under 1100 RPM head speed, the tail response will be a little sluggish. I personally like 1150 RPM on this thing, but that is just me.
@leovandorsten13442 жыл бұрын
@@Rchelicopterfun Bedank voor uw reactie, ik heb ook de EC135 en EC145 van Roban,en deze hebben dat niet,maar ik vlieg de EC130 met 1250 RPM is zal proberen met 1150 RPM .
