Thank you, was looking for those foam covers forever and as a last resort came to KZbin. Typical Tamiya 😂 use the foam circles, provides a foam rectangle with barely visible cut lines.

Got that same kit a couple of days ago but mine has a Subaru body. Right now, I'm aplying the decals and detailing it. I'm pretty eager to see how it handles with the motor mounted on the front. Great video, sir, as usual. Keep it up!

My favorite 1/10 scale RC rally chassis! The XV-01 chassis was first release in 2011. It runs just like real front engine 4 wheels drive rally car!

Great to hear you're obviously happy with the chassis. This is my first XV-10, and it's great to hear others like the chassis. Yeah it's a reasonably old chassis now. I think it will be around for a few more years yet. I figured it would run great, 4wd with the weight in the front, should handle tight turns easily. Thanks mate! 👍

Nice video. Just finished this and a great car to drive with the motor at the front like a real car. My first belt driven car which was fun. Found the quality of the plastics very good. Tricky decals though !!!!

Tamiya keep surprising me with their kits, a lot of effort has been put into the detail of this kit. Front mounted motor 4wd!, looks like it should hook up nicely👌. Another great video mate👍🦘🇦🇺

Fantastic Mick, I'm building a tt02 rally car right now and did Mark Bryants mods . You guys really know how to get these up and running well, this is an exelent car and very good quality. I'm busting to see this beast go, it's a better car than the tto2 so should be a blast. I'm doing a plasma edge 2 next then trying a Tt01 rally car. Tried so hard not to buy anything but you know how it goes ha,ha, plenty of upgrades around for these so should be a good car.

Thanks mate. Ahh, I knew you were building a TT02, didn't know it was a rally car, awesome! Yeah Mark likes his rally cars, as you'd know he has a load of awesome videos on them. I may head over to his channel and get some ideas for this one too 😁. I'm hangin to run this one, should be cool. I'm water proofing it so I can play in the puddles too, and since it won't stop raining here for more than 10 minutes 🤣. The Plazma Edge should be fun, and the TT01 rally! Lol, yeah I hear ya mate , I say "I'm not gonna buy anything after this one, or maybe the next one.". At least you're having fun, that's what it's all about! 👍

@@RCHobbyShed now I want the Xv01, this is an exelent car. But I want the dump truck too, ha, ha, I may have it finished this weekend, dam work. I think I'll have a lot of fun with the rally cars . Got a Ztw combo 4350kv so should be a beast. Haven't tried the Tt02 r chassis I built yet . The transam body looks good , scared to scratch it . The Tt01 I'll do with a tourqe tuned motor, don't have a brushed Tamiya and should be ok for a rally car. Have a good weekend mate.

I built this car over year ago. It is a very fun build. I got the body that 'Killerbody" makes for this. It is already pre-painted and has light buckets if you would like to install LEDs in the car. The Tamiya body is not painted and does not have light buckets. I also got metal hinge parts for the A-arms. This is a high stress area and is easy to install. I did not like the plastic pulleys for the belt drive. I got metal ones instead. I even got titanium screws for this car. The only reason I got those screws is because they were so cheap. They cost about $30.00. I did get the slipper clutch for this car, but had nothing but problems with it. Thoughts ?

Nice, those Killerbody's look great. Pretty handy that they're painted and already have decals. The light buckets are also cool, but I'm probably no gonna run lights. I actually won't do much to mine unless something wears out or breaks. Sounds like yours is nicely set up. 👍

@@RCHobbyShed Thanks for saying mine is nicely set-up. It is very difficult to paint and apply the decals to the Tamiya body. The Killerbody"s is a much easier way to go. The mounting of the body is not that easy because the body is already painted. You can buy lots of after market parts for this car which is great. I guess it depends on what you would like to do with your car. I really wanted the Tamiya Cockpit for this car but could not find one anywhere. This is another really cool thing that you could do with this car. Thoughts?

Yeah there is a lot of upgrade parts out there for this chassis, gotta be happy with that! I have a cockpit set coming for this one, but I think I'll have to fit it later as it may take a couple more weeks to arrive. I got mine from Tony's Tamiya Parts but I just checked and they're out of stock now. You could message then and ask when they'll have stock. The cockpit is an awesome addition! 👍

@@RCHobbyShed I have ordered stuff from Tony's Tamiya Parts before. I have been very happy with them. I live in the USA and I think they are in the UK. It does take longer for my order to arrive. That is to be expected. I pretty much gave up looking for a cockpit just because I could not find one. If you got one, then I will start looking for one again. Thoughts?

What would you recommend for radio transmitter, servo, esc, receiver, battery and charger?

I have this and you have to be carefull which esc you pick,not much room in the sealed compartment,if i recall even the motor caused issues regards wiring attachment points

I've still not run this yet but from what I've seen they do quite well in stock form. There are some out there that have used longer shocks for a little more travel though. 👍
