OMG - That motor on 3S will run 60,000 rpm! Careful - not sure they’re meant to run over 50K. I know once it’s loaded (geared and turning the drive-train) it’s never gonna hit the unloaded max RPM, just bear it in mind...Might be safer running 2S - and don’t forget it’s only a 60A ESC (with no fan)... it’s gonna get hot - fast! Don’t wanna be a killjoy - I’m loving this!! Just don’t want to see you destroy it on its first full throttle run - tho god knows where you can find to really open it up! I installed a Hobbywing XR10 Justock Spec ESC and a Spektrum 215 receiver. I had to swap them around and put the ESC on the right side and the receiver on the left. This allowed me to keep the ESC fan installed. Just a tip. Not planning to go higher than 2s on this car and running a Tazer 3300Kv brushless.

He's wrong about the electronics guys and what can fit and what can go where. I just finished my build and I used the hobbywing 10BL60-sensord ESC AND Sensored motor and I switched sides so the ESC is on the right side and the receiver is on the left side. If you look at the car guys what's hitting the fan is 2 things the front diff cover and the steering arm. Do a moch up and u will see exactly what I am talking about. And I was able to keep my fan installed as a method of air circulation while the Body is on. I installed it above the receiver. But I will say that this has been the most pain stacking build ever it's no joke he's not kidding about it being a tight fit for the electronics. U Also have one other option it's the new Tamiya ESC that comes with the Subaru brat kit. Idk exactly how new but newer and it fits if u want a completely Tamiya set up. Anyway I just wanted to comment on the fact he is was wrong. It's a hobby build guys it's what we do figure stuff out.

F104 is completely different as the TC-01 is more of a touring car chassis that looks a bit like an F1 car. You even get two types of body mounts for it in the kit. You can’t fit an F1 body to a TC-01

@rcmindset28764 жыл бұрын
I have figured out how to make more room. If you go to Amain’s website or whatever hobby store you use and purchase exoteks clamp on fan mount ring. Instead of putting a fan on the mount you can 3D print or use aluminum or any other material to mount a flat plate on top of the the motor and use it as an ESC mount or receiver mount that will place either of these two above the motor and free up a lot of space.
@RCKickschannel4 жыл бұрын
The Formula E body sits too snug to the body but it would work for other bodies.

I do like that chassis but i do think it's about time tamiya put some alloy as standard in their cars, especially the dampers. These days even cheaper low end cars have alloy shocks or adjustable tie rods and some bling on them..

The Electronics I have in mine are epic and just about fit. The ESC fan is the issue. It’s Not bargain stuff but more middle of the road. You need a small ESC and half height servo for sure. Check out the TC-01 Facebook group for loads of info on other possible solutions. 👍🏻👍🏻

If this was an RTR and not a KIT, Traxxas would try to sue Tamiya to keep them from using Push-rod suspension on the car. They did it to Arrma and Vaterra. I believe it was some kind of Patent claim or injunction. Both of which are not possible given Traxxas did not originate the technology (first used in F1 and first used off-road in Desert racers) nor were they the first to use it in an RTR RC anything. Look up the Monogram Tornado, a very old RTR from the mid to late 1980s. Thing is Traxxas likely did it because they were protecting the Revo line of monster trucks. They literally would not survive any real, direct, competition. Worse is Traxxas, over time, literally rendered the Revo truck irrelevant with models like their own X-Maxx and 4wd Rustler. "Lawing away" the competition ultimately did Traxxas no good favors.
