Hi, I hope you are doing great! I thought I would share a quick update with you. I'm currently working on three major videos I'm really looking forward to show you guys! A 3D printed RC airplane V2, driving on water V2 and for everyone that miss my DIY electronic videos, I'm also working on a peltier liquid cooler. Hopefully I'll receive the parts from Ebay in a week or two. Have an awesome day! /Simon

Hey all, if you where as confused as me and could not work out how to make the "solid cylinder" hollow, I worked it out! if you change the model to do 360 degrees and place the type onto outer curve you will get a hollow cylinder. There we go and thank you RCLifeOn for this video. love your projects keep it up

Have you tried putting the "picture" side on the inside so that the outside of the shade is smooth. I think it would be cool if it looked like a normal lamp shade when the light was off, but then you turn the light in and BAM and you can see the design.
@mihaiburaciuc12887 жыл бұрын
At 1:38, there is a gap in the back, you can fix it by going to curve and type 361 or 362 instead of 360 (it works)

From your last video on this, I was going to do 4 "outer curves" with 4 separate pictures and glue them into 1 cylinder and make a lamp shade. Awesome!!!!!!
@tonypilborg7 жыл бұрын
I actually thought of a lamp shade when I watched the last video - but with the extra thickness on the inside of the cylinder - to make it more stealthy... My own printer can not do a big enough volume, so I hope you would consider another one??
@jaimanbhardwaj16797 жыл бұрын
why don't you just make one your self and scale it to fit your lamp
@mimked7 жыл бұрын
Another thing to consider is making the lamp shade with several of the simple curved lithophanes that you then somehow tie together. That way you don't need as large of a printer bed to make the same product. Another video I saw when looking for this one has the idea of using small, flat lithophanes to make a box with LEDs inside. Maybe that would be more within your capabilities.

hey dude. this looks awesome! however when i select solid cylinder on 3dp lithophanes it makes.....a solid cylinderrr (not a 'tube'). did you hollow it out? didn't seem like you needed to in the video, and the filesize is too large for me to import it into tinkercad, so it's kind of complicated. i'd really appreciate your help. what could i be doing wrong?

Don't know if you still read the comments on this movie but I have a little question. I made a large image myself (3 pictures in a row) and import them in 3dprocks. Then I used your settings (360 etc) but the cylinder stays full. Also in S3D it stays full of course but when I set 0% infill it is indeed emtpy but the quality is very bad. In 3dp rocks you made a cylinder and there is no infill. How did you do that? Thank you very much for reading en I follow you, of course. Knownbug
