What a wild coincidence, you buy a handful of magazines and in one of them you find an engine clinic covering a great topic and one that I use to preach to all customers at my hobby store many years ago. Wonderful read was a bit odd that the video ended without you adding final thoughts or comments for a nice video closure. Not a showstopper, as I find all of you time put into these videos to be well worth of my time to follow and keep watching what you create, all the best in 2025.

neat ! thats a cool read ,...glad ya found it SIDE NOTE !...an oldtimer I knew from the greatest generation showed me to always dump a quart of ATF in the carburator while running , if Im going to store the car for any length of time to insure it will NOT lock up,...a bit smoky but it saved engines for him more than 30 years sitting in his back 40 ROCK ON ! Hi Dave, Wish I had seen that article back in 1988. We had been using the Air Tool Oil in our air tools at our garage when we serviced our dump trucks. I wa our companies mechanic back then. Had I known it made a good after run oil I would have used it in my RC helicopters. You don't want to remove the engine just for storage.

I use Marvel Mystery with my mowers. I have used it on other applications. I’ve collected most of Clarence Lee’s collected articles. The man was a genius and gifted craftsman.

I use the marvel air tool oil. Seems like it works good.

It is weird you just posted this because I have always used the red stuff until a weak ago and the little bottle of the marvel air too oil was at my shop was sitting on the shelf. I put some of that in an old gummy fox Q.40 engine and it freed that thing up! Good video?

I cannot answer if MMO is sold in Australia. Yes any gun cleaning oil is just as good for preserving.

Any chance you have fiddled with a k&b .48? I would like to put it on my uproar but don’t remember where I got it from or how this carb works it has a flat dial on the side I’m assuming for low end? I need to find a muffle before I can start it.

Yes and I really disliked the engine. Search my channel for K&B 48 there are three videos. There should be a manual online or at MECOA for that engine and carb.

@ THANKS! Found it!! I was searching .48 I guess that’s why it didn’t show up before I asked? Bummer I was hoping it would go nice on this plane.

It may very well be a fine engine for that airplane and for you. I personally was not impressed with the engine. I did not like the carb on it. There have not been many K&B engines that really impressed me though either. I was simply never a fan of their quality. I would put a Tower Hobbies Pro 46, GMS, OS, or Enya on the Uproar before a K&B. I flew several Uproars with the mentioned engines; it was my test bed for engines airplane. I also flew it with an Enya 46-4c engine and loved that combination.

@@dmrcflyr2funny you mention that. I popped on eBay and found a nib gms2000 I scooped up for it instead. I didn’t have a muffler that would fit the k&b or see any that might fit for sale so it will go back on the shelf for now.

@@michaelcasella4774 Did you get a GMS 40 or 47? Both are great engines. In fact they are the same as the Tower Pro 46; an engine I simply LOVED! Would like to find another NIB one actually.
