if you are referring to the current sensor lead, reversing this lead blows up the current sensor because the device try to run the osd from the current sensor output. (i found out the hard way)

Positive on a servo lead is usually in the middle so you cannot put it in the wrong way, the other two being the wrong way around can't really do much damage
@OutbackKanga11 жыл бұрын
If you run them through a mini dv recorder they will not blank/blue screen. With out a dv they do indeed blank screen and that can take up to 3 to four seconds to switch back on so if video is iffy that means the screen is off more than on , stacic you can fly with..... a blank screen you can not :)

It would be pretty hard to blow up the board by misconnecting the current sensor, since the 12V is in the middle. ^^ If you go off center you might.

So, what is best? I know you have used the FY21AP with osd, I think its now an FY31AP. Is ARKBIRD a better option? Looking forward to the flight footage and the tips on not using RTL (what can go wrong I wonder)

@dnumdug11 жыл бұрын
On the current-sensor, how could you blow up the unit as long as the red cord+ is in the middle..? That`s why the red is in the middle. But I enjoy very much your reviews, very useful and interesting! :-)

Trouble with arduflyer is there are too many confusing "Add ons " for the average beginner, Its not just arduflyer alot of the osd autopilots are too confusing with what to buy. The nice thing about the ark bird is its simple to install and comes in a plug and play ready to install all in one package.
@RCllamadude11 жыл бұрын
I'd say get an arduflyer board and the osd add-on (from uavobjects if you are in the U.S, or from rctimer if you are in europe, asia, or australasia) the arduflyer and osd from either of these sources comes out at less than $30 more than the arkbird, and you get WAAAAAAAY more functionality than the arkbird too.

My arkbird osd V3.1028 plugged all cables but I connect in the model airplane and it is only message in the gps and it does not leave the 00 satellites., I am using in a radio 18sz Futaba futaba original receiver 7 channels, configuration for 1 batterie, transmitter of video and receiver of video 5.8., in front of this you can tell me what problem I do not find satellites when connecting arkbird? In the radio I left channel 5 100% key of 2 position and channel 6 radio I left 100% in a screwdriver. What can it be?

Most screens go blank but they let through a lot of static so if there is something to see - you see it. And they come back very quickly. I suggest not to be afraid of those cheap screens if you don't have money. No point to pay tens of dollars more JUST for the no blue screen option. Like I said it is not so big difference in real flight. If no signal then no signal. Bluescreen or 100% static - You cant fly with either.

Additionally obvious flux residues left on the PCB... somewhat sloppy. I guess other forces - like crashing, mishandling etc. - will kill the unit before the acidic nature of the flux residue will cause problems, however it’s a pet peeve of mine. Where these items are made it costs only peanuts to finish the job properly, IMHO.

I lost my flying wing last week because of this system. I flew 7 km 3000 ft altitude from home, on return I kicked in the RTH and the craft went off-course about 90 degree which is totally unaccepted. I went back to manual mode and by then the craft had lost altitude until my 2.4 Emmerssion FPV link failed. The Orange 433 lost signal too but the Arkbird failed to bring back the craft. I will never buy another Arkbird.
@chrisf54759 жыл бұрын
+Choon Ted Thian Countless people using this. I suspect user error
@purge988 жыл бұрын
Yeah user error. You need to read the manual. You didn't allow the ArkBird to acquire enough (7+) satellites before flight. It acquired the home position after you took off and when you selected RTH it flew to that position. It worked correctly.
@aussieaeromodeler5 жыл бұрын
Hi Bruce , whereas I like your reviews etc , it would be really helpful if you could do a video showing step by step wiring things like this up so a person could like follow along rather than showing it all set up . Its all good for those that have done all this before , but for someone looking for instructional type videos this isnt much help , no disrespect intended , but a more instructional type video for people new to this technology would be great , rather than 15 minutes of how good or bad the product is , as youve said before ......the 'Chinglish' is bloody impossible to understand unless youre fluent in really bad translations (I should add , I've been building static models for 50 odd years , recently started building things that actually fly which is why I made this request)

OMG! This guy talks ALOT but doesn't say very much. Plus, his audio sounds like he's in the bathroom (aka WC, the Loo, the Office, the Head, etc.). He also repeats himself a lot, which is irritating. Need to learn how to edit for time, for Pete's sake. And, if you're going to do a "Box Opening" or a "Product Review" video, shouldn't you know how the product works and all it's functions before making a video and giving it a bad review??? Sounds legit.
