I have been a finger shooter for over 30 years. I recently invested in a new bow and a thumb release (Truball T-rex). Your videos have been petty informative and have given me a lot to work on to overcome the anticipation of the release as well higher % let off (my other bows are 65% or less). I do have a firing ling trainer so i'm not destroying arrows and it does help. (even though holding weight is a little more than my set up. When i do shoot, ii's at a blank bail at 10yds just to build the confidence. Its like learning to shoot all over again, Looking forward to more videos of this kind. Thanks again

Thanks a lot Robert for sharing. I too have been shooting fingers for 35 years and this whole release thing is like I am just a beginner. Feels bloody horrible with no feel at all to be honest. I know that will change with practice, and shooting a new generation bow with fingers is a challenge also. Shooting a hinge release is nervy for the first time. Every thing you say is totally logical and experience is priceless. Thanks once again champ. Cheers.

Maybe not such a 'common' release error; but, Make sure the release safety strap is applied correctly (or at all). For the first 15 or so of the years I shot archery, I didn't know what that extra length of strap was. While the velcro was 'fresh' it held just fine; and, no one noticed the safety strap was not applied UNTIL... Life happened and I didn't do anything with my archery for over fifteen years plus moved to another part of the country. I could no longer pull my old bow back and we (a new bow tech and myself) were lining up a new bow that we could re-start my archery fun with. At the range while drawing the bow back for the first time 'loaded' (actually drawing an arrow back), my release went Grrrrritch... The Tech went completely palad in his face and stepped back: said, "let it down, let it down". Yes, I did feel the release slip as I drew back and it made that noise. "You forgot the safety strap!!!!!!" ..spooky, huh... ..all those years...

I also use Twisted X strings, on my 3rd set. They are great strings.

Absolutely! I'm really glad I found Shane's strings.

Check back through the channel and I've got some videos of me shooting. This is an informational channel first though, so you'll see more of me talking and helping archers than shooting. I'd suggest watching World Archery's KZbin channel for that.
