I only got an iPhone 12 a few years back because my mother has dementia and was getting lost. I also switched due to pressure from my kids because they said my videos and pictures were bad. I loved my S9 and it seemed to work better and fast than 3 people in the car with iPhones. I beat them every time from finding an ice rink in the middle of nowhere Minnesota for a hockey game in a snow storm, or find a place to to eat, or asking Google a question. I’ll be buying a Samsung or Google phone again when the RCS is up and running. I had 3 other Samsung phones going back to the beginning before my S9. My S9 rocked. Gave it to my cousin and he’s still using it.

SAME!!! I think I’ll be switching back to Samsung once rcs is running. Throughout middle school I had an s6 edge, then an s8+. I loved using my Samsung bc of all the customization options, good battery and great camera. But I switched to iPhone in 9th grade because everyone had em plus iMessage and FaceTime abilities my Samsung didn’t have. Since then I’m kindve stuck in the Apple ecosystem and miss having a Samsung. I’m hoping one day there will be a universal iMessage and FaceTime but I highly doubt that. Still though rcs is a huge step in the right direction.

I can't believe I see people on Twitter denigrating others because we'll still be getting the green bubble 🤣🤣 I guess they don't understand what RCS really is about... And us Android users don't really care much about blue or green we can change our messages bubbles to be whatever I like best, but I'm glad that now my wife and I will be able to share pictures in a much better way through regular messages and not worry about the quality of the images.

Um u are aware that Apple doesn't really talk about stuff that they didn't want to put in their phone? RCS is not an advantage for Apple it's an advantage for Android. So this does not need to be advertised to apple users bcuz its useless for imessage users.

i use whatsapp... it is great. but I wish somehow I could use the my phone's native messenger just because it is simple. I found rcs a time ago, and it is amazing. whatsapp/telegram/signal are popular, and almost everyone had it *downloaded*. but rcs is a protocol, just like sms, mms... but a way richer as its name. and mostly of smartphones are coming with - not being needed downloading third party apps. I see it simple, utile, safe and great. communication could never be easier.

In North America, like he said, most people who have an iPhone don't use 3rd party apps to communicate. They use the default messages app that comes with the phone. And Apple has iMessage built right in to that same app. It provides nearly the same functions of a 3rd party app, without having to download and use those apps. And in North America, the iPhone has like a 50% share of the market, so it would make since for most to have iMessage anyways, whereas in the rest of the world, Android dominates. But one key thing most overlook, is that it took Google years to get anything to compete with iMessage that was also built into the default messages app. And don't forget, iMessage is true ENEE and has been since day one.

Hell no I have the s23 ultra and I use the Google messages and I love it it has RCS and when you send it it's great it's fast you can send videos pictures anything you want and it works perfectly now some of my friends don't have it so it sends it out as MMS or text messaging like what was Apple it's ridiculous I don't like Apple anyway so I always been an Android guy I enjoyed this video take care keep them coming😅😅😅😅

Y’all realize that RCS is a carrier driven service thus subject to CALEA. Meaning it’s legally required for developers to give law enforcement tools to eavesdrop on those communications

15 fifteen straight years of using iphones and i have never needed to use the imessage. imessage in my country was never a thing. everyone uses whatsapp with more than 200M users. i still use two iphones as my daily drivers and always use 2 android devices bc i cant do all the things on iphones. android has more functions and freedom to do things.

I am android user and this gonna make a change for me positively as I donot use any messaging app or social media (except YT). I used to do simple texting if necessary using RCS. But in case of my friend with iphone it was not possible to send rcs message. And I can't Normally text him because he have signal problem. Rcs would definitely be a good move in Iphone. 👍🏻👍🏻

When iMessage was introduced all we had was SMS and MMS. So the divide wasn't as great. As the benefits of iMessage improved that divide widened greatly. Now with RCS and the introduction of comparable features. Much of what separated Android and iOS has diminished. The blue/green divide is still there. Along with the stupid egotism of feeling special since they have an iPhone. But for what it's worth this will help greatly.

​@@jacobperez8921 I wonder what Apple will implement in iOS that prevents 3rd party apps from breaking the GUI design of iOS or the security backend. Since both Android and MacOS(this includes all of what apple releases hw wise) are based on Unix/Linux and other open source softwares. This means that the success of any device like this is in the sale, as well as user adoption. Both Android and Apple have been able to help sell all of these devices successfully and both have gathered extremely large user bases. I switched from Android to iOS back in 2017, when the entire android ecosystem was still deciding on its GUI and service offerings. I enjoyed exploring new features offered through new hardware, but once that became consistent. The GUI changes started to get annoying and frustrating because every phone upgrade meant that I had to change what software I was using, and I had to rethink about all my data. Even within the Android ecosystem. Plus, most OEM would only provide critical Android OS updates for a short period of time. Meanwhile Apple has offered consistent GUI experiences, and consistent software upgrades. Although sometimes, the feature set has been lacking and..... this is exactly why I started with Android first then switched to iPhone. From the computer side of things, it's more like Android if you use a Mac instead of a Windows computer. So, if you think about it.... Android and Apple contribute and make the same things.

I don't think it'll create any difference in America or if it will that just be a minor difference and outside the U.S. nobody cares because WhatsApp dominates the market & people do not switch massaging apps easily. Even I love iMessage & like RCS but people didn't give up on whats-app which is a crap app. I am an Apple user (in Eco System) but I love Android devices I was a Samsung S Series user (from Galaxy S to S10 in a row) and I still love my S9+ design. The Status thing is mindset game EU or any other organization can't change that.

Sunbird is a super hot mess. I tried it on my Pixel and it sucked. It’s slow, lags, delayed messaging, sometimes doesn’t send at all, and it isn’t full featured. The best way to go is iMessage on an iPhone.

Disabling iMessage is a nobrainer. I'm forced to use an Iphone at work. It happens once in while that iMessages don't reach its recipient. It's because clueless iPhone users had iMessage enabled and then changed to an Android Phone. Apple servers then store it to send that iMessage once that iPhone turns on. But it never happens. I can't afford to have that happen. I do not care for flashy features of iMessage.

@@shortyg1018 Yeah, but iOS is not always healthy. There are most ways that Android is more healthy than iOS in terms of utility, function, flexibility and simplicity. For me, Android does have a simpler User Interface than iOS. iOS is easy too, but I find iOS a bit more harder to use than Android. I do agree that healthy companion is better for a consumer, but stick with what whatever you enjoy using :)

We actually don't care anymore. We have RCS. Everyone else might care outside the US. And to communicate with others outside the US I use what they use anyway. Telegram or WhatsApp so I don't have a issue downloading another app to communicate. I still will use android anyway. And as you grow older you learn to adopt alternative ways to communicate with those you want ; use their preferred method.

I only use WhatsApp. Whenever I receive a text message, it's typically someone using an iPhone or an older family member/friend. I forgive them, but keep my response extremely short as to not encourage them too much!

Who would need RCS or any other phone-based messenger? Telegram has everything one might need - and one can chat with native PC/Macbook clients. Messaging should be locked to any vendor/platform/country/race/religion/...

iPhone has had the exact same features as RCS even before Google or Android did. It was just between iPhones only. You guys finally get the features a few years ago and now act like its something high tech and new lmao. iMessage has had all these features for quite some time now.

More like a big win for iPhones... Finally. The average consumer has android friends and iPhone friends. If you are texting from an android to an iphone, the experience is fine. If you are texting from an iPhone to and android, the experience is absolute garbage. Anything that isn't just normal text doesn't come through properly
