Great maintenance video, I would definitely like to see more videos like this for those who own the cheetah's, and for other vehicles. Tips and tricks are always helpful. Maybe a comfortable coating of the electronics on the cheetah since so many have a problem with the waterproofing. Keep up the good work Steve.

Quality vid! I’m off to check out your others now. I bought an E8MTL (never RC’d before) and during my 1st minute I bounced it off someone’s car then got it wedged under another 😩 I bought it 2yrs ago and used it for about 20mins! Just got it back after 4 months and the front CVD snapped. I’ve spent hours looking for a video exactly like this so I can sort it myself. Just hoping you done loads more cos I’m a complete nugget at the moment! 👍🏻👍🏻

Imo it's good that the pinion is not as hard as the spur. If they'd both have same hardness you'd have other components damaged in that drivetrain. In my Sabertooth I always had the opposite. Motor came a bit loose and that sucker punch hardened steel pinion gear completely shattered the spur, LOL. So, I'd always have to take the centre diff out completely to swap the spur against a new one.
@Hirthirthirt4 жыл бұрын
A guy from the Forum told me a trick: Turn the pivotballs farer out so the dogbone does not sit in the center of the diff-cup but rather on the outer end - and here is why. The shafts are too long and when you compress the suspension it hits the inside of the drive-cups and then they bend. I checked if tht is true and my driveshaft really did it....although it was already bent like banana (means it was already shorter in length). This might be also connected to the broken drive-cup.

Enjoyed the vid but the outer grub screw is not only to retain the ball, but also to adjust the backlash in the hub assembly! There was probably nothing wrong with the hub you changed out...just needed the outer grub screw nipping up slightly to reduce the in and out slop in the hub...being careful of course to maintain just enough clearance so the ball does not bind.
