By reprogramming the jlb cheetah esc and turning the punch level from medium to strong the car turned into an animal, likewise increasing the brakes from 50% to 100% means it now stops on a dime!

4S testing tomorrow! It was too wet down at shell sands today, and I think on 4S I may need more room! Might test it in the yard tonight, now it brakes better. I'm thinking it might do 60 on 4S?

Hi mate I believe Neutral Range is how much throttle you squeeze before car start moving. So 12% you squeeze more and 6% the car more from smaller squeeze of throttle. I use 6% more responsive

I did also notice the program light didn't light up but I always change all setting to what you want and then press program bottom once and hold for 4 or 5 seconds and when you release it should flash a blue light.

I’ve just got my program card I just ordered the hobby wing. I couldn’t figure out where to plug it in. So you unplug the wire going into the esc and plug that into the card and then go from the card to the esc? Sorry I’m a little confused on this one. I thought it was gonna be much simpler. Watching the video it seemed so easy. I am new to the game and playing catch up. Any tips for my cheetah would be greatly appreciated. I’ve also got a ZD 9104 that doesn’t have much of any reverse.

just get the 120A esc, you can program it with the button on it. also that esc is waterproof. way better then the 80A version.

I got the 120A version, can you explain how exactly it can be programmed?

@@DzZuppy it's all in the user manual. But you have to hold the button, then switch it on and keep the button pressed. Then the esc starts beeping. From there you can change your settings. Read the manual and you will see its pretty easy.

Neutral range is how much you can move the radio trigger before it hits power forward or reverse. Also you can usually use a hobby wing esc programming card with the digital readout on everything the only difference between models is there order of what you want to change but is usually in the manual I've used the hobbywing card to program every car I have I just use the cars manual to see the esc's program order.

Thanks for clarifying that! Harley Dave has raised this issue, I think the 120A esc (Labelled SC8) might be but this is the 80A one and everything I've found on programming that ties in with what you've said. Also this doesn't have the programming micro button on the on off switch like the SC8 does, indicating it's not hobby wing. Thanks for your input on this one.

I know what u mean though I have the ezrun in my 1/8scale mt but I use the hobbywing programmer on a couple different China brushless systems like the popular goolrc or the okeday. They all have the same perameters just different orders so by process of elimination the hobbywing card will work on every esc I've tried it on. I feel like I'm not explaining it very well sorry. Lol. Great vid though man.

@@philthyco1 it does work on goolrc and okay my friend it's just a different programming order I think the have punch first then low voltage cutoff or vice versa I I have a goolrc 80a 3660 in my little rustler and I used my hobbywing to program it I just found the correct order and it worked fine.👍

Basically the neutral range is how much movement there can be in between the reverse and throttle before anything happens, not 100% sure why you would need something like that but I would guess it's for different radios with a twitchy trigger

Yes your right mate some set up are very sensitive so it a good setting to have and all so good for kids if you change to higher 12%

@@STEVOD313 Oh okay, the key bit on the arrma esc is noting that the long beep is in fact 5 very short ones together. I've done a few on the arrma 6s ones as well as the 3s one.

Yes this was on 3S note there are 2 esc's you can get for the JLB Cheetah, this is the smaller 80A programming guide.

That card may light up but you are not programming it correctly. It you look at the hobbywing site, you'll see the punch setting has more levels than the 3 on your card. I dont recommend using that card for this car.

Thanks for the info. Note this is the 80A one, do read PhilthyCo's post below as he seems to indicate the OEM Is OCDAY and not Hobbywing, this is the 80A version, which doesn't seem to have the little programming button by the on/off switch like the 120A version does (120A version is labelled SC8 on the banggood site so assuming that one is hobbywing). Also other people seem to use the same card for this car. I've a hobbywing programming card I can easily try it with, would you recommend that? Just not at all sure this 80A one is hobbywing. The 120A quite probably, just not sure on this 80A one. I've done a quick search and someone says the 80A esc is the same as a Racestar one, and banggood sell this exact same card for their 80A racestar esc. I'd just like to get to the bottom of it to clarify for people.
