We had out of town guest pilots for this hilariously fun day at the field. We flew just about everything including our best fixed wing planes, quads, and helicopters. If you like to watch RC planes, this video is for you.

Man the Yak just doesn’t’ get enough love. I know 3D that blurs the plane unrecognizable is “in” so Laser, 260, etc. are popular (and 67”) but low, slow and tight is perfect on that aircraft. Always loved the look of this one and I miss my Skywing so I just might pick this one up, gorgeous.

Yeah, that was pretty funny. Dave is our resident comedian and the kids were just lovely little people. Glad to have had the chance to fly with them that day.

tip for the pop top, start rolling to the left, then add right rudder then down elevator at the same time as you apply elevator add a bit of right aileron so the right stick does a ( motion. if you enter with to much momentum they start looking like knife edge spins
@RCVideoReviews
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. After watching the video, I did see that--gotta get the ailerons moving right. I'll keep working on it. I've done them a couple of times, now I have to get them consistent. Appreciate the tip.

@RCVideoReviews I found the rolling to the left was easier for me as its going with the torque of the motor. but starting the roll really helps aswell

Is there a way i can use the matek pwm-c the adapter board that does current and all the other telemetry but have it output sbus or crsf to the a3s4? So i dont have to run a bunch of servo wires? (Just joined your patreon) Ruby S. Cheapskate level 😊
@RCVideoReviews
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
You can run the CRSF leads to the matek board and then to the A3S4 which now supports CRSF. So on your RX/TX pads, just solder a pair of leads on each. One Rx/Tx pair goes to Matek to give you the vbat/current telemetry. One Rx/Tx pair goes to A3S4 for control. Thanks for joining Patreon!

Question(s) - Which is an EASIER build - the AJ Acuity 62" or Vanquish 48"? Also if I want to spend ADDITIONAL funds, which is an EASIER build - the AJ Acuity 2M or the Vanquish 2M? I ask these questions because I know you have or had the 48" Vanquish and I know Dave has the 2M Vanquish and the 62" Acuity.
@RCVideoReviews
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
Dave did the 62" Acuity. I did the 48" Vanquish. Dave bought the 2m Vanquish built. Dave has the 2m Acuity in the box. I think it would be tough to decide which is easier when it comes to one he built and one I built because we're different people with different opinions. On the big ones, maybe Dave will weigh in. What I would say, is that most ARFs come in various stages of completeness. i.e. Some have the control surfaces installed and covered, some don't. Some require cowl alignment and drilling, some are done for you. Some have keyed horizontal stabs which makes alignment somewhat trivial (as long as the jig was straight), some have no keys which means you have to measure and re-measure. Some have servo screw holes pre-drilled, some don't. Some of those issues make it "harder" some just make it "longer". I'd like to give you a straight answer, but I don't think I can. Instead what I would say is watch the videos, think about how they look, how they handle, consider your budget and availability, and make a choice. I'll conclude with: The Acuity and Vanquish in any wingspan is going to be an amazing plane in the sky. The build is a temporary process, the flying can go for years. Think long term about it.

Hello, that's a bit of a hard question to answer, but the easiest thing to do for you would be Download the manuals for each airplane and look them over and decide which one would be easier for you to build. As far as the flying, they are all fantastic. The 2 m acuity would probably be the best If you are going to compete, Jason Schumann Won the US national pattern championship A few years ago with the 2 m acuity. I hope this helps.🙂

@@davidpaker626 Dave - Thank you. I did download the manuals and looked at them. I have purchased THREE Extreme Flight and Sky Wing PNP planes because I really am not into building. I also have the PNP FMS Olympus FOAM Pattern plane that after a fellow RC pattern flier adjusted the RATES ans EXPOS it flies FANTASTIC. I want to now try a BALSA pattern plane and it looks like, at the present moment, I will have to build either the Acuity or Vanquish or BOTH ARFs. Unfortunately I don't think a PNP BALSA pattern plane is going to be in the works anytime in the NEAR future 🤔😉
