No effects. That's all Tatiana. She is a vocal Goddess and one of the best front women in the business. The band's musicianship is second to none. To fully appreciate how good the band is react to their live material. I suggest "Perennial" live at Wacken.

Second that. Actually, there is only one song I am really aware of where she does not involve extreme metal vocal techniques, which is "Bad Water". Perennial shows a lot of her range, and is even more impressive, if you take into account that this is the last song of the set, involving an incredibly long vocal melody line and still full stage presence, that is nothing less than stunning.
@maaronsmith2 жыл бұрын
@@agmeckler if you do "Pit of Consciousness", you have to do "On the Top" live in Kiev,v same show!

You guys have found the most exciting band on Earth right now! I'm subscribing to see you do more of their songs. I'd say do "Perineal" live at Wacken, "Teacher Teacher" official video, their live in Kiev songs and their new songs of their newest album released in August "Vortex", "Mediator" and "Disclosure". And that's just a start of what you should watch of them haha.

There is NO effect on her voice, this song is even a reaction to all those how can not believe that it is her voice. "Narrow minds can not believe in what they hear"(but it is true)
@jcmmmbrains27182 жыл бұрын
Andre Brodbeck You’re not wrong, but to be fair, most people don’t realize that this type of singing uses the False chords as opposed to the true vocal chords. It’s an entirely different form of singing, using anatomy most people don’t typically phonate with (or know exists), so it’s not crazy that more classically trained vocalists and just everyday people wouldn’t be aware that she can sing the way she does.

You're pretty good at it, Rachel. Usually people start coughing when they try it. Her name is Tatiana and she uses her vocal folds rather than her vocal chords to do the growl. The way she describes it is she imagines she has two throats, one for normal singing and one for growling, and the two never touch. She has been doing this for more than ten years, so she has a lot of practice. There are about a dozen other women who can also do it, a few even go deeper than she can, but she is unique in that she can also hit very high notes. It is amazing to hear her do it live in front of an audience. If you both are keen in checking them out a little more, then I recommend you react to their performance of "Perennial" live from Wacken, Germany, because there she hits a high note and sustains it for a full eleven seconds before dropping right back down into the growls. It honestly gave me chills the first time I heard it.

It's not an effect, but a screaming technique. 99% of their songs are a mixture of screams & clean vocals, but there's buttloads of variety within and between their songs, each song & album being very different from one another. The usual cherry popper is the live session of Pisces, but I guess this one works as well. I'll leave my usual recommendations (minus this one), if you want to check out more. Official video suggestions: Teacher, Teacher Vortex I Speak Astronomy Cloud Factory Retrospection Wallflower No Hoard Of Value (official lyric video) Home Back Mediator Sit Stay Roll Over Live suggestions: Perennial live at Wacken Who Is Gonna Be The One live On The Top live in Kiev Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev Captain Clock live at Resurrection Fest

I just saw them live recently, and honestly she's even better in person. Absolutely incredible band, I love and cherish every one of the four of them. Vlad's first, he's a classically trained drummer, has written about 80% of the music for Wallflowers (their latest album) and is insanely talented, particularly with speed and fills and his proficiency for polyrhythms. Tatiana is second imo, she is absolutely breathtaking and unrivaled as a vocalist. Eugene (bass) and Roman (guitar) are tied in last for me, simply because I'm a drummer and can't really appreciate the amazing stuff they do since I don't understand it well. Every last one of them is a GOD on their instrument though. Individually, as musicians and performers they're already outstanding, but together they're just on a whole other level.

@@RDMusicExchange Their drummer, Vlad isn't actually a classically trained drummer, he is a classically trained pianist. 🔥Welcome to Jinjer! I love Judgment and Punishment, rightfully angry at narrow mindedness. I just found your channel, great reaction R&D, subbed! Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and beautiful growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics! The first time I heard Pisces last year, I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band, Pisces has been my wakeup alarm for the past year and I don't hit snooze any more. TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂 Sorry for the very long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs! My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and "that was more unexpected than my first child" 🤣 I love the story of Tatiana getting interested in learning to growl. In her own words, "I was inspired by Otep (Shamaya). When I was 15, my friend showed me a record of House of Secrets. I was like, ‘That dude - his voice is so powerful. And he said, ‘Oh come on Tatiana, that’s actually a woman!’ I was like, ‘What?’ She blew my mind. That was the time, the moment when I realized I wanted to shock people just like her. I just had the feeling or the intuition, like an extra sense that this is what I’m made to do.” The four current members have essentially no musical training except for Vlad the drummer who studied classical piano. They've been a tour heavy band, on the road almost nonstop from 2013 to 2020, hard work that has made them fantastic live and make it look effortless. For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, so he's a huge part of the beautiful sound of Jinjer, but Vlad the drummer (who also plays guitar and piano, but so far not in most Jinjer songs - I think he played piano in lainnereP) has been writing more of it and wrote nine of the eleven songs for the newest album Wallflowers, first four videos are out for Vortex, Mediator, Wallflower and Disclosure! Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs. The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine in 2009 as a group of three (then five) with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band when Tatiana replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar 2009/2010), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their road sound engineer Sasha to be a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members. One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the way she combines her beautiful growling and beautiful singing with Jinjer's fantastic instrumentals to be so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top, Mediator and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness, Vortex, Wallflower and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for letting capitalism destroy her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah, Outlander, Dip A Sail and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that might do well together in one reaction). I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Pisces (live session with some backing tracks), Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official and/or live in Melbourne), Judgement & Punishment (now that you've seen Tatiana's one take performance of this, I hope you'll still react to/review the official video which is a lot of fun and I think of as another must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Note that because Jinjer has so many great official videos and so many astounding live performance videos, no Jinjer fan will ever mind if you react to/review a second video for a Jinjer song you've already heard, so whichever songs you choose, whatever pace you like: hope you'll keep trying more Jinjer and enjoy! ❤🖤🤘

With this clip I’m pretty sure I could understand it’s her vocals even if I only heard it. With the “live session” Picses thing they’ve applied basic vocal production to the track - doubling all vocals, pitch shifting the extreme vocals, adding a bit of distortion. Therefore - in Picses she literally sounds like two different people - which is the point of the lyrics.

Fun reaction - subbed! :) Not a criticism, just something to feed your self-awareness and knowledge after researching this a lot in the 3 years since I discovered Jinjer. I feel like the first two times you tried it, you were maybe using the false folds correctly, as I don't think I could hear your voice in it (I am _not_ any kind of expert though, and in general I'm also _not_ good at hearing what people are doing, so take that will a small hill of salt!). But then the third time, you tried to make the sound more and ended up engaging your vocal cords, which is incorrect and potentially dangerous to the health of your vocal cords. Learning the technique is to take that weaker sound that you made first, and slowly develop your ability to make that sound clearer and more powerful - which usually takes years, often with training though Tatiana is self taught. Honestly, I would have expected your initial attempts with just the false folds to be a lot less clear and strong than that (my feeble attempts sure are haha), but some people are able to get that coordination pretty naturally. The best description of what she's doing is by The Fairy Voice Mother in her reaction to Pisces. Pisces is fun and a beautiful song, but you already know the twist haha. I'd suggest a stage performance next, like Perennial live at Wacken. If you think she's mesmerizing just standing with a mic and no crowd in front of her, wait until you see her on stage playing to a crowd. Nothing compares to actually seeing them in person, so watch for shows in your area. I take if from your accents that you aren't in the U.S. where they are touring at the moment. Hopefully they'll be able to get some more European shows in before Omicron shuts stuff down again as is starting to look likely. :( You are pretty close on the pronounciation of her name. You can hear it spoken in the beginning of their new video Disclosure released about 2 weeks ago. This is a pretty typical ratio of cleans to growls. Some have more cleans, some have more growls. They did one song with all cleans and one with all growls but that was a few albums ago. :) Cheers!

Most are introduced by the “Live Session of Pisces” and even if it’s on your own Do watch that one it’s quite beautiful in its setting Who’s Gonna Be The One Live It’s from 2014 but, it is considered an “Epic Performance” Others have got you on point Oh looking into them a few years back If it’s still an unknown She’s using “Vocal Fry & False Vocal Chord Technique” She’s about mastered it yes, Ok! 😊✌️🌸

That is 100% her. I think there's a little reverb when she say's the descending "test". There is also behind the scenes videos here on youtube where they're in the studio laying tracks. You can hear her actually doing it. In the raw so to say.

There are some live recordings of Teacher Teacher, however, their official Music Video is a mix of live concert clips with the studio version. It is a great video because you get to hear many facets of Tatiana's voice, witness how amazing she is as show-person/lead vocalist and also see how amazing the band is. They're all great musicians but their drummer is unreal. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYPOg6qCZdudhck

Yes, please pause the video so I can properly hear what you are saying. Then jump back 5sec with the keyboard, so you don’t miss any transitions. I’ve heard/seen the original video so many times, just watching it again to see you guys discovering it. You two have great chemistry going on. Keep going.

Owe it to yourself to check out Spiritbox. But I wouldn't start with Holy Roller, which is their most popular song with reaction channels. Start with something like Beauty of Suffering (live one take), Electric Cross, Bleach Bath, or Courtney's recent live one take of Circle With Me. But if you want to jump straight to their masterpiece, check out the live from Silverside Sound performance of the Mara Effect trilogy.
