My discovery of Barbershop has been largely through Tim, learning songs through Timtracks. My own vocal performance has improved, undoubtedly, but I keep going back to the tracks to hear what perfection sounds like. Thanks, Tim, and keep up the great work - new tracks and KZbin videos. I can’t get enough of listening to your voice. You and Vocal Spectrum.

Worlds are colliding! I've been watching The Daily Doug for many months for all the content and reactions of Prog music, my favourite kind of music to listen to. Then of course Doug's choral background relates to my own. But now to see Tim Waurick on it - Barbershop is the style of singing I've been doing the most of over the past 30 years, and as such have been listening to Tim's singing for many of those years!

I would never have believed that both of my musical passions-Rush songs and Barbershop Harmony would so delightfully collide right here at “The Daily Doug”!! I’ve seen Tim and Vocal Spectrum numerous times live (Harmony College NW) and was fortunate enough to see Rush live in concert 22 times. This is a wonder episode!! Kudos to Doug and Tim!!

The "Bridge" arrangement was heavy on the Doo-Wop, heard that from the outset, but SUPER cool to hear him cut it with 10 (!!!!) multi-tracks. Lot of video editing work there. Might only take him a couple hours to record it, but I bet it takes a lot longer to get everything perfectly lined back up for the releases. Holy hell.

Thank you Doug, love this interview. It's really cool how you are covering genres other than what we mostly hear on your channel. This enables us all to expand our musical horizons. Also really looking forward to your interview with Rachel Flowers. Keep up the good work!
Queen's catalog is so ripe for good covers--Bohemian Rhapsody, Prophet Song and so many more! But my suggestion for Tim's "holy grail" would be his choice of ANYTHING from Todd Rundgren's 1985 album 'A Capella'. Thanks for bringing this guy to my attention, Doug--I really dig barbershop!

To further comments that Tim made about the parts…. Baritone is the hardest part to learn and the easiest part to sing. Lead is the easiest part to learn, but it’s the hardest part to sing. Once you learn the funky baritone part, you just need to fit in. Even though the melody is easy to learn, you have to drive and tell the story and support the other three parts in creating music and performance.

I think my favorite track done by Tim is Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea as sung by the Ringmasters.

Doug, Could you please react to some Warren Zevon ? I am listening to ''Finishing Touches'' from his Mr Bad Example album as I type this. He was incredibly talented and classically trained by Igor Stravinsky well worth listening to his work. There is ''French Inhaler'' ''Desperados under the eaves'' ''Transverse city'' to name a few
