RDS Fuel Tank 2019 Ram Mega Cab

Trying to put an RDS auxiliary fuel tank model 71212 in my 2019 Ram Megacab with a short bed.

RDS 74736 50 gallon tank. I have this installed on my 2022 Ram 2500 Longhorn with the 6’4” bed. Completely below the bed lip and can still use factory 5th wheel puck system.

I had ATI build a 45gal tank for me that would fit under my tonneau cover and in front of my PullRite auto slide hitch in my 14 MegaCab. The only thing I did not have installed, and now wish I had, was a second large capped opening so I could install a fuel level sender unit. They worked with with me on the dimensions. The 45gal tank was all I could get with the PullRite hitch in place, I was limited to a 12 inch depth.

I just put an ATTA 68 gallon in my truck, short bed with bed cover. works great

What model truck? I’m looking for something like that, except I have the roll cover, and the fifth wheel Prep group, and tow a gooseneck.

I always just have a 2nd tank added during build. Did it with Ford and RAM. The RAM even shows both tanks in the EVIC display. They are both under the truck side by side.

The factory 2nd tank option is only available on the long beds. Not enough room for it with short beds. Also, I believe it's only available for diesel.

Transfer flow made a 40 gal. That is around 18 1/2" tall. I have 2 rams(long & short bed) with a transfer flow 40 gal tank under a bakflip bed cover. I was lucky enough to find that same tank twice. If you stay under 55 gallon tank capacity you should have clearance.

We have a titan on our short bed 3500. It replaces the factory 32g tank with a 52g tank And you lose zero bed space since it replaces the factory tank. We still are interested in an auxiliary tank since we full time rv

I considered the titan, but price per gallon of capacity was a turn off. I need bed space, but.... Make sure to check with Titan. Some manufacturers like S&B and Titan don't work well with gravity feed tanks. Of course, Titan makes the trekker so that would probably be your best bet.

I put a rds 91 gallon tank in my 5.7 gas megacab for rec. use for our travel trailer.

I have the RDS 95 gallon with tool box and looking for a tonneau cover for it. Any ideas on which one? Been searching forever and i know it cannot be a hard cover but wondering if some of the soft covers will fit over the fill neck of the auxliary tank

I am not sure, but if you can find one that big that fits under a cover, it will likely take up a lot of bed space.

I am in the same boat. I am looking and just swapping out my original tank for an S&B. It is annoying only having 34 gallons on a long haul.

Thinking about the same thing, but I hate to pay so much for less than 20 gallons. I'd love to find a 50 or 60 gallon option in the RDS price range.

ATI makes several tanks that will fit under a cover.

I just bought a truck with a aux tank and it sits too high for a tonneau cover. I'm thinking of just cutting a hole in the cover for the filler neck. Not the best solution, maybe someone has an idea to solve this.

Well, there are laws in place about mods and warranties. You can research the legal, but the main thing is can someone prove your mod caused the issue? For example, modding a fuel tank could have an impact on your fuel system, but it's not likely it would cause an issue with your transmission. Best of luck in your decision!
