As for the collection at the end of the video, most (if not all) of those examples were graded. Wouldn't a company like the Action Figure Authority be able to spot the fakes?

And that’s the Big Problem right there. Truth is though it’s doomed for reproductions. Eventually all this stuff turns back into the elements it was taken from and the cardbacks will turn too dust.

They are original bubble, original card and original figure. Yes the figure was handled. But if they are in good condition who cares? It isn't like these figures weren't carded in the factory.

That's why I prefer buying card backs with a little wear and yellowing to the bubble shown, they are a little cheaper than the mints and easier to identify through pictures.

the indentation from the industrial press didnt damage every card back, so using that to make a judgment on whether its fake or not is potentially flawed
@oneplumpboi53175 жыл бұрын
Depends on the factory molds. We all know the blister coating (well atleast i know) required 10 psi of pressure on the card and had to be baked close to 130 degrees for about 5 seconds simultaneuosly. The molds is what resulted in different card back damage. but one thing is to be sure. The were all indented, as in had a press mark. If it doesnt have the smallest slight press mark, i’d believe it’s be a fake card. Alot of people are misled to believe that “not all have this blah blah blah, and this mostly comes from people who wont admit they were ripped off. The molds used to hold the blister could’ve been set too high or low, resulting in a clearly protruding or barely protruding blister edge. They all prodtruded just so you know... As for the waffle pattern. That secret is staying with me. Might get in trouble if I “Help scammers make it easier to reproduce stuff”
@johnpeterson29875 жыл бұрын

Technically they're all genuine from the factory, just not packaged from the factory. What a shame. Rumor has it he's made upwards of $800,000 and card grading services at the time didn't know any better and gave his work a grading of 85

I don't like how the word "fake" is being thrown around with these. Fake connotes bootleg or counterfeit. These are genuine vintage figures placed in genuine vintage bubbles and cards; they simply aren't factory sealed. Yes, they misleading as to being in brand new, unopened condition, but they certainly aren't fake.

Hold on to the re-carded, I'm sure they'll be worth even more in the future. Considering it's all genuine product from the factory and the story behind it. While back the Star Wars knock offs were considered useless not worth anything, today some are priceless.

Lately there's been people selling customs with waffle seals. And if custom guys have got the machinery for the waffle seals now, it's very fair to assume the guys producing fakes do as well. There's really no way to tell any more.

@@johnpeterson2987 I hear ya, life is too short to worry about trivial things. I actually think it's pretty awesome when they're customs. This guy (link below) recreates the figures (and coins) with scanning, and 3d printing tech. Nothing is original, but everything looks original. can't believe the quality of the genuine toys. i passed my toys to my son and i can honestly say a toy in me and my brothers hand usually ends up broken. we took metal toy cars they we're quite heavy and ran it straight into the indoor frames. we hit hard and we liked to see the cars roll over. watching if a mirror or anything fell of it.

Do your research. It will lessen your chance of being ripped off. People that sell fakes disguised as originals should be prosecuted.

I'm a Vintage Star Wars Collector myself. These figures arent Repro's, they are the result of a story about a guy now known as "Toytoni". He bought all those bubbles and cards and from what I heard he went to a factory and had them seal the bubbles on the Cards. They are all authentic cards and bubbles, but were just never used. Some of these figures are AFA Graded because Nobody knew that they were Re-attached to the cards. It's was a terrible epidemic, and to make it even worse this "Toytoni" guys still sells the figures on ebay.
@SteveSabbai9 жыл бұрын
TK-STORMIE 78 I just read up about the TOY TONI scandal. Was it ever confirmed that he was selling "Fakes"? That guy, Antoni Emchowicz, should be prosecuted.

Yes, alot of the figures were sealed using an Iron, and you can see the Iron marker on the card. All his loose figures were repainted as well.
@VMIFerrari5 жыл бұрын
If the guy was knowingly selling re-carded figures as *_genuine, mint-on-card examples that were never opened_* then that is known as *_FRAUD_* (and that's illegal). The seller would need to have one hell of a big disclaimer on his Ebay listings pointing out that they were re-packaged. If not, then.....
