Petrol in early 80’s was Rs 4.60 & Rs 6.40. I have an YEZDI 250 cc 1978 model, those days we rode entire ktk from BELLARY , then in 90’s part of ANDHRA , in the year 2013 we toured Bombay & part of Maharashtra. My YEZDI is still in working condition.👌

24:27 - I had a mahindra mojo, it could do 120 stress free with a pillion on highways all day long. When you push it could reach 145 - 150 speedo indicated with a pillion. Absolutely no vibrations even at the top end. However it didn’t have good bottom end, midrange was its strongest point. 100 in 6th gear came at 5000 rpm approx and was super relaxed. Suspension was pretty comfortable too. Had a 21L tank. Once me and my wife were on a trip and did 551kms before the low fuel bar blinked and that means around 3-5L were left in the tank. Too bad Mahindra didn’t market it well. I had the 2016 launch model, with my brother now. Could easily keep up with bigger bikes when touring.

@@krishnakumart94 It’s is the same engine technically, but the tuning is vastly different. None of those tunes felt anywhere close to the first gen OG mojo. Even the newer Mojo’s doesn’t have that character as they are also detuned.

Dont lie. It had vibration and buzzing on tank, handle. Post 4500rpm till 6500. It had 8kmph of speedo error too. Quality was not great. Paint peel off from front fork, alloys and engine case. It's plus point was fuel tank capacity, riding posture, pillion comfort. Its cruising speed was good until 120kmph. Top speed was between 130-138kmph. Anything more than that absolute speedo error. Have had that bike from 2016 December to 2022 april.

@@3rdclasstatamahindrabajajREtvs How can you say that I am lying?, I just shared my experience, yours might be different and that’s alright. I got it in feb 2016 and is still there with me, (my brother is using it now). The experience hasn’t changed much. About the speedo error, you might be right about that I have never vboxed it and I mentioned ‘speedo indicated’ and not true speed !!!! Haven’t faced paint peel off issue, the only issue I faced was with breaking which was fixed by replacing master cylinder and Mahindra did it for free. The other issue was water seepage into speedo cluster which again was replaced by Mahindra at 1k km and never faced it again.

Sir, you are legend and your passion and knowledge is ultimate. My experience with bikes feels similar....1987 RX 100, another RX100, Sholavaram days, Honda CBZ, Triumph Bonneville in 2015, Kawasaki ER6N 650, BMW 750 GS, KTM 390 Adv, Hero Xpulse, Kawasaki Versus 1000, and now GS 1250. I could relate so much to your experiences. Keep it going sir. Cheers.

My brother got the RX 100 in 1987. KB 100 was, in fact, not yet launched. In 1989, I bought the Kawasaki 100, when it was still a new launch (and before the KBajaj rebadging).

Does it make more sense to wait for the RE Scram 450 with a 19 inch alloy front wheel? That would be the better all rounder. Also, by then, RE would have hopefully ironed out the infamous initial teething issues to some extent.

himalayans engine is full of character, i think -people who enjoy ans use the engine character should go with himalayan, people who want a bike to just travel doesnt mind about the engine then should go to scrambler 400x.

I think i will go with scrambler 400x. The reason being it can do 80% of what himalayan can do. Plus better city capability. And the most important is tubeless tyres. On himalayan i have to spend 45k extra and throw the existing wheeels.

@@vigilant. yeah😅. But dont have budget more tha scrambler and i cant ride himalayan without tubeless tyre as i have a fear of puncture in mind.

@@vigilant. the Bajaj badge is nothing to be ashamed of my brother, my dad's chetak carried our family of 4 for many years, All the bikes I have owned till now has a Bajaj legacy. The pulsar220 then the RC390 and now the speed400. I would own this even if it didn't have the triumph badge.
