I'm baffled as to why this doesn't have more views. Don't let that discourage you Stephanie Theodorou. That was a fantastic presentation. It's people like you that make that make me lean back in my chair today and ponder... how humans can build giant cities, land on the moon, map our entire genome, create artificial intelligence, but can only scratch the surface of understanding something like animal consciousness, let alone our own. Because, as I sit here today... ME... a thing... in a body, looking out through these eyeballs... at a world that nobody else on earth will ever see from this vantage point... that sense of "self" I guess..... To think that consciousness is special to us humans and that it doesn't scale in some linear fashion is absurd. But hey, I suppose that's your job to answer the hard questions lol. Thank you for scratching my brain today and I look forward to keeping up with you. Closed minds often have to be pried open so keep doing what you're doing 👌

I’ve recently been fascinated by animal conscious and pain perception. It is so incompressible it’s amazing, humans can’t even understand each other let alone something as foreign of an animal.

Yes, I am vegan, and I am proud of it. I love science but I don't need it to be friends with animals. They are so rich in emotions and relationships with animals are absolutely fascinating.

I was once looking at a lobster in a tank floating starring at me and i asked it, i wonder what it is you might think about are different worlds? The lobster took a moment and looked at me kinda sideways and said "Human beings are the only creatures on Earth "that claim a God."And the only living thing that behaves like it hasn't got one."Does the world belong to no one but you?" And when he said it, I was taken back. Not because of who was doing the talking, because I finally understood the connection between children scavenging for food and shiny brass plates on the front doors of banks

I dare you not recognize emotion and say we are just so superior to other animals that they just can't think and feel like we do you have a GOD COMPLEX the facts so that they are more advanced than that and how are we so advanced we are not very advanced.
