Finished job looks good Mark. Once did block of flats with a similar gun but without the nozzle extension, just the plastic one, Think it was made by cox, pretty good but the nozzles wear down pretty quick so need plenty spares for large jobs, We were knocking up a barrow at a time then rub in then repeat....used to get quite a lot done in a day, Makes me shudder just thinking about it lol.

OMG thats a massive job bud, I got a gable end to do as I am end terrace, not gonna take me a couple of weeks, this is a year project do a few courses a week 🤣 as far as my ladder will reach, the way I look at it every week I protect my house a bit more as said before i think the builders where cement shy and its mainly sand in the mix so I am going 30mm deep with the disc grinder its over the top i know but wanna go belt and braces on this repoint to protect the house.

Get a slightly narrower pipe and cut it open a little less than half, so that the mortar does not drip out of the pipe and that it is easier to align. Then fill the pipe with a trowel and use it to slide the mortar into the pipe of the extruder.

I think it about the same speed for me as normal pointing it works well when they two of you on it. Some love it and say its a lot faster and some say its slower. I put loads of plastersiser in the mix and seems to work well. For me and I have a big nozzle on it too 👍👍👍

Plasticiser and clean sand 👍
@aussie81143 жыл бұрын
The mix needs to have a reasonable amount of fatty consistency. A normal brick sand should be good but not something that’s too sharp. If the sand is too sharp the gun will just pump the moisture out and leave the mix in the gun.

@markhep2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul. Yes mate I allways use 4 to 1 on brick. Yere I would say that sort of texture if you using the gun. Also you want plenty of plastersiser in it. Best way to tell is just to try it in the gun. You no straight away. Because it just does not come out or gets stuck after a few squeezes. Then just add a bit more water if it does 👍👍👍

@markhep4 ай бұрын
Hi I would do it after about 10mins to start with .all you are watching for is it not going too hard or it can be really hard to point you better point earlier than later .then wait till you start getting white on the bricks before brushing.if it's a flat red brick you can use a dry tea towel to scrub it clean . timings are more to do with how hot or cold or damp it is out side .just do a little to start with and you will soon work it out 👍
