In this video, I use a basic Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) tool re-learn tool to re-program my TPMS in my 2019 Chevrolet Impala.
The TPMS re-learn tool I used is an Augocom EI-50448, though there are many identical looking ones out there.

For anyone else with a 2014-2020 Impala (likely very similar procedure for other GM vehicles), here is how to do a TPMS re-learn:
1) Enter diagnostics mode by holding the ignition start/stop button for 5 seconds (do not press the brake pedal)
2) Find the tire pressures page on the dash display
3) Hold down the ‘checkmark’ button on the steering wheel. The horn will sound twice
4) Go to the front left tire. Position the TPMS tool near the valve stem and hold the button until the horn beeps
5) Go to the front right tire, and do the same thing
6) Go to the rear right tire, and do the same thing
7) Go to the rear left tire, and do the same thing
8) The horn will double beep to indicate success. Turn off the ignition, start car, and you should be set!
Note that you may need to hold the button for a while... it took close to 30 seconds to pair the first TPMS sensor. Just hold the button until the car beeps at you at each wheel.

After many unsuceesful tries with other videos I came across this one. It it is the best and fixed my problems relearning the TPMS on my 2015 Tahoe Z71 after rotating tires. I used the cheap Amazon EL-50558. Important note: as he says in the video sometimes you have to keep holding the button down since it can take longer on different tire positions. Also, I used the 5 second hold on the start button (don't press the brake pedal) and did it without the engine running.

It worked! Getting to the learning mode on my Buick is a little different, but just as easy. The rest of the procedure is identical. It took less than 2 minutes. I bought the EL-50448 from Amazon. A different brand, but identical unit for less than $13. I am so grateful for you and this video. Thank you.

Just did this on my 2023 Camaro SS. Exactly as you described. I previously could not get one of the tpms sensors to detect while I tried the reset sequence with the engine running. But your video inspired me to use the five-second start button hold to get the car into tpms reset mode with the engine off. I suspect the engine, while running, must send out enough RF interference to mess with the weak signal coming out of the reset tool. Anyway, doing the procedure with engine off worked great. Thanks!

That black antenna is also a great way to hold against the sidewall/rim as close to the valvestem as possible. Try holding it straight on to the rubber the closest to the valve and it might help it pick up the signal better. Especially true with a weak transmitter.

Were you able to get them to reset while your snow tires were on??? Thats the problem I'm having with my new rims the sensor isn't working
@rubbercheesereviews
@rubbercheesereviews 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have my all-seasons and snows on different rims, and I use this tool to program the system each time I do a tire swap. If you are having problems, possibly one of your TPMS sensors is bad. Apparently TPMS sensors typically last 5-10 years, though my limited experience with them is that the OEM ones last a little over 10 years.

@rubbercheesereviews
@rubbercheesereviews 2 ай бұрын
I've tried holding the antenna different ways (especially after receiving similar comments after posting this video) - it makes no difference at all to me. I believe the delay is as it cycles through codes and may be influenced by battery level of the tool and/or TPMS

@rubbercheesereviews
@rubbercheesereviews 2 жыл бұрын
It depends why you are having this issue - if the sensors aren't corresponding to the correct tire, reprogramming will help. If the sensor is just reading incorrectly, I doubt this would help. Have you checked all tires to see if one actually is the low pressure reported by your vehicle?

I suppose that would work... if you go from tire-to-tire and find out which one doesn't cause the car to beep. With that said, if you have one bad sensor, it is likely that the others will go bad relatively soon so might be worth swapping them all.

Is your gauge showing low, or a reading that's way off? If the car says the tire pressure is LO or "---" after previously working (i.e. if you didn't swap tires), that is an indication that the TPMS sensor has gone bad. With that said, if you know the TPMS sensor is good, try buying another tool - the first one I bought on Amazon was a dud and wouldnt work even though the indicator light made it look like it was working.

@Jared Patterson From a quick web search for 2010 Impala, I think you just need to remove (or add) air one tire at a time for the re-learn; give that a try. There is also a good chance that TPMS batteries are dead - the sensors in my 2007 DTS started giving out at around 10 years old.
