Great video ! I just bumped into it 1) many hi value cars costing around 40 lacs in great condition are within 10 years available for 4 lacs.. does it mean cost of. Itself re-registration will be around 1.3 lacs ? 2) what is the cost for cars that are more than 15 years old? 3) vintage and imported cars that are pretty old, used by embassies are being sold in Indian used car market.. how is the cost for these taken? 4) diesel car scrapping policy allows use of car for 2 years. Is the tax calculated for 15 years , even in these cases?

Q1. Yes sir, tax will be calculated on invoice price only. Q2.After 15 years car has to be presented to the RTO for fitness, after inspection it can be further given life for 5 years only. Q3. Vehicles over 50 years old are considered as vintage and I am not sure about the registration policy. Q4. Not sure sir, I will try to get details sir.

I recently purchased a Innova 2011 model from UP and transferring it to Chennai when checked with RTO they are asking to pay 11% full road tax ( cost of the vehicle is 10,64,000 in 2011) tax they saying to pay is 1,17,000 approx. No sir, you need to pay only around Rs.23500/- as the life of the vehicle is only 3 years left so tax calculation should be 1064000 x 11/100 x 3/15.

@@athenkulandai7031 Actually my agent told me this information then a lawyer also confirmed the same. They will enter the vehicle details in the portal, so portal will automatically calculate and tell the payable tax

No sir, life will not be extended, in this case, 2009 model vehicle has got life upto 2024. But, after completion of 15 years, you can get an extension of 5 years

Sir..I'm planning to purchase a BMW X1 2011 5 lakhs.. you said in video about the invoice value so in 2011 the car on road price is 26lakhs (23 laks, 2.50 RTO ,50K insurance) so as per your video calculation 2600000×10÷100×4÷15 = 70k ( tax Amount) is it like this or if the current market value of the car is 6 lakhs or dealer price certificate with 6 lakhs ( 600000×10÷100×4÷15=16000) which one will come sir
