He did know. He didnt wanna live with the guilt . It was a way for him to never be a danger to anyone and never have to remember what happened. The cop would have never ever went willingly went with them at the end. He would have protested. Fought. He knew.

My favorite part is you go from hating ben kingsly as this evil doctor . .. to realizing he was a wonderful man who viewed teddy as a hero suffering the worst ptsd and worse tramatic event. The way he told him i really loved that car... showed that no car was worth the well being of his patient
@d.jparer51844 ай бұрын
He performed experimental labotomys on mentally ill people. He's literally the opposite of a wonderful man. How on earth did you take that away from this movie?
@Hal27183 ай бұрын
@@d.jparer5184Umm... no. Kingsley's character was staunchly opposed to lobotomies, but he's also not the only psychiatrist on the island. The other psychiatrists wanted to do the procedure, but Kingsley's character did this whole charade in an attempt to prevent it from happening.

If you like DiC’s acting, I’d highly recommend “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape”! He + Johnny Depp & Juliette Lewis are great in it! He doesn’t phone it in to me no matter the script : The Departed, Catch me if you can, Gatsby, Inception, etc. Critics at the time didn’t like “Man in the Iron Mask”, but his talent comes through, it’s entertaining & there were a few iconic lines in that movie at the time 😄.

Michelle Williams ( played his wife) is one of my very favorite actresses. She became well known for being on Dawsons Creek but has done some amazing work. During Brokeback Mountain she and Heath Ledger got together and had a daughter named Matilda. Check out her long list of incredible performances- I loved her as Marilyn Monroe in My Week with Marilyn.

That was the first movie I saw Leonardo DiCaprio in. And I realized he was a fine actor because he did such a great job in his role that I wanted to strangle his character. And it wasn’t the character’s fault. Johnny Depp was good in that movie too. For me, Depp is a hit or miss actor. I only like about half of his roles. But he was pretty brilliant in BENNY & JOON. I recommend it.

This movie for me was meh, i feel like they gave up the ending since the start when he was talking about the fact that people make up worlds in the minds and live in them as if it was real. I feel like they took pieces from 20 other movies and made this one. Feels like i'm watching The Others, Sucker Punch and Inception all over again, just doesn't feel like an original movie more of a parody.
