If my guess is correct his Gluttony ability might be actually in effect. I'm saying this cuz Beatrice was shocked at the amount of mana Subaru had stored. This could mean that the Gluttony factor gathers him mana more efficiently and eliminates the possibility of mana poisoning. Otherwise, I don't have any idea how Subaru would survive with a large quantity of mana. So the Author decided to give Subaru a power up after all this suffering?

Emilia: It's too cold, noone can help me under these circumstances anyway. 😔 That to me sounds like someone's going to help her, and I bet it's Subaru and his ridiculous army of OP weakling that'll completely shatter Emilia's expectations. Also, it seems like Mezioera is as ancient as Volcanica, so Tappei may be alluding to something like Dragons (at least mentally) not being immune to the effects of aging at all. Maybe even elven minds deteriorate over prolonged periods (hundreds of years), considering that Satella's vocabulary and communication skills sounded better in Hoshin's recollection of her than how she is currently. Reduced to a few words for the most part. Her mostly saying "I love you" nowadays to Subaru or "you're not him" to anyone who isn't Subaru (if she doesn't straight up ignore them) is identical to Volcanica and Mezioera constantly repeating the same thing as their response if not remaining silent, which could imply that having a long lifespan in Re:Zero may not necessarily be a good thing if your body stays in its relative prime as your mind deteriorates. Making you as vulnerable mentally as an elderly person (I'm talking like 90s-100s) while having the same physical/magical power in your golden years. It's a scary concept, and would really make Re:Zero's world feel more distinct than other fantasies. But that's just a theory for now.

@@Anup_sk23 Aside from the tail end of the tea party, I don't think Satella's ever had a proper conversation with Subaru either. Assuming all the pitch-black chanting manifestations are Envy, Satella herself is rather quiet and mostly reiterates some variation (it's not even varied most of the time) of "I love you" and "I'll be waiting" when she speaks as well. She does say stuff like "I'll be waiting" "Where are you?" "Found you" and her iconic tea party confession/request. But Volcanica is shown capable of occasionally breaking his repetition streak as well, like when he mistakes Emilia for Satella (not the WoE) and begins reminiscing about the past, how Satella was looked up to by her subjects, and his regrets/guilt regarding his inability to prevent the tragedy that befell her. (I believe he saw Emilia as Satella and was venting/apologizing to Satella in a way.) His repeating dialogue also changes when he mistakes Emilia (who he also mistook for Satella) to be taken over by the Witch of Envy. However he instantly switches back to AI/Alzheimers mode soon after. Not sure if my theory is correct, as not even Volcanica or Mezioera may have actually degraded minds due to aging, but rather a condition of some sort that limits their mental capacity, like a curse or contract. Of course that may apply to Satella too, but I don't know the specifics of why she's as quiet (and otherwise repetitive) as she is (unless Subaru is disconnected from her, apparently, but even then she seems to just say "Where are you?" over and over until she finds him, and afterwards returns to the her usual "I love you"/"I'll be waiting.".) Mezioera also begins talking somewhat differently after Madeline gets turned into a Popsicle. Unsure why though, or how much more aware he is (if there even was a difference in awareness and it wasn't just a switch from one set of dialogues to another based on circumstance, like the other two seem to do) with Madeline frozen.

I suspect there are two gates, one that interacts with external mana, and an internal mana converter. It's just usually the internal mana converter doesn't have enough mana or physical prowess for it to be used and to artificially open this gate is usually useless because it's too difficult to maintain it being opened and fight. Kinda like the mana equivalent of adrenaline. However, if someone artificially opens it for Subaru who's just sitting there and who's only limitation is physical, not mana (since he already has a buildup), he can endure just sitting there and spread the buff around instead of having to fight himself. The second gate is probably not well known since you have to be an elite fighter unfocused on using outside magic to notice it. *Purely head cannon of course*

Anyone else think a lot of focus has been given to buff type magic in arc 7? First we see chaosflame, then priscilla, now subaru squad. On a different note, while subaru never gets op fighting powers, he still gets something from each of the arcs since arc 3. And usually we see a demonstration of that in the next arc. By that logic, whatever subaru gained from arc 6 should at some point be seen in arc 7. Or he simply gained louis. The soul marriage technique kind of opens up a pathway for subaru to be stronger. If he did that with someone (Louis?). I know he won’t be anywhere near as the actual powerhouses but he should be able to overpower someone like todd or even jamal in the future arcs. Is that too much to ask? Will this subaru squad in the end get disbanded or will they become a part of emilia camp as the subaru squad?

'Magical Excitation' sounds a bit like how the 'Eight Inner Gates' in Naruto works, but using one 'hidden' mana gate instead of a chakra system. What Subaru seems to be doing is a broken, cheat version of an already broken cheat move... but better and with less drawbacks that can potentially buff a literal army. Even *if* you can actually read everything, your opinion can be pretty misinformed until you reach further on in the story to see how everything plays out (this happens in a lot of fandoms). Huh so dead of the mind wasnt age related but literal corruption of their fundamental being. So the dragons quite literally turned into basic programms fullfilling functions. Thats interesting. This takes me back to the Snowfield Movie with Emilia. Where the great firehorse elemental spirit talked about a never ending "cycle" the world is stuck in with Emilia being the key factor to break this cycle & that great element also called her Witch. So from my understanding, Subaru is in some sort of adrenaline rush, but with mana. It’s a forgotten technique that strengthens the body, like what Cecilus is doing but without conscious thought. He’s then stacking it onto every member of the Pleiades Squadron, and I think other members are in that state as well, allowing him to stack *that* adrenaline rush as well. Beatrice is likely also in this mana feedback loop, allowing her to stay alive and cast spells.

What I got from it is that it's a very tricky thing to do and that you either have to send mana through your body and *that* opens the hidden gate to allow you to use it easier *OR* the act of opening the hidden gate itself is what enables the person to use the technique (which would make more sense in Subaru's case) but aside from that it's just your run of the mill isekai body strengthening magic

I think this could be a massive plothole by tappei where nothing strange/important about Subaru is ever talked about other than his smell. I dont like it because it removes the depth and mystery from the story and makes it feel like an average isekai when its not.
