One of the few things I swore I'd never work on again unless the kids were really hungry and nobody else was hiring... Great job bud, DAMN nasty in those things.. Thanks for all you do and keep on keeping on... Your great

Thanks for the kind words 🙏. Yeah they can be nasty glad we do much less than we used to and they don't call us for reach ins while the kitchen is running so that makes it nice. Thanks for watching!

the low side pressure determines cut out.charge is crucial.great video thanks.
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mario! Low side pressure determines cut out if using a low pressure switch, these reach in coolers will run in to a negative because their controlled by a mechanical thermostat that senses coil temperature which should correlate to a low side pressure but if critical charge is low the coil doesn't get cold and they are critical charge that why I never attach gauges unless necessary.

Haha love the comment on the filter. "I change the filter all the time I just don't know why my condenser keeps plugging"

I bought a used food truck with a prep table. When we turned on the electric, the motor and fan were super loud and then after a few minutes it got quiet. It did not cool after running for 10 minutes. Does this sound familiar to you? What might I have to fix/change? Any idea of cost to repair? It'll be super handy to have a prep table for condiments, etc. with refrigerated storage underneath.
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
I can not tell you exactly what's wrong with without seeing it. Super loud could mean a lot of things, if it made a humming noise that could be the compressor not starting and start components could solve your problem and be a inexpensive repair. Could be anything hard to say, look for obvious problems. Is it dirty, do you see any burnt wires?

Im sure using the original start components is better, but is a 3 in 1 really bad to use? What would be the downside? (3+ year tech with no one to teach me lol)
@EverythingHVACR23 күн бұрын
There is nothing wrong with a 3 in 1. It is a personal preference to go back with the original start components. I would guess most techs would leave a 3 in 1 and not give it a second thought. The only downside I can think of, off the top of my head, would be the actual size of the capacitor. Is it exactly what the compressor is rated for or slightly bigger/smaller than the actual compressor rating.

@@EverythingHVACR I asked my supply house earlier if its ok to put a 1/2hp instead of a 1/3 to 1/4 and the only issue they said is if it draws more amps then it is supposed to then the internal relay on a 1/2 hp 3 in 1 would not go off. They said it could prematurely kill a compressor.

Is there a special certificate needed to work on R-290? I have a problem with mine and several mechanics told me they don't have the necessary education to fix it. Waste of a diagnostic fee
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
No, an EPA license is enough, which they should already have. Commercial or residential cooler?

6:45 whats that white insulation looking thing in front of the coil?

That is a cheap media filter

@@EverythingHVACR do you recomend putting those in front of the coil? where can you get em
@EverythingHVACR Жыл бұрын
They do help keep some of the grease and other debris off, but they have to be replaced like any filter. So yes, especially with a contract customer, we add filters to the condenser coils.
@deankoch73052 жыл бұрын
That filter media is not rated under 400 cfm. You will burn them little compressors up in refer equipment.
@EverythingHVACR2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dean, if not a filter the coil plugs up and has the same result, is there something different you use?
@deankoch73052 жыл бұрын
@@EverythingHVACR Yes. Get the gray spongy stuff at United Refrigeration. It comes in rolls. Tell them you want the stuff rated for under 200 cfm for small equipment. Hog hair is not for refrigeration.

@@EverythingHVACR That hog hair stuff pops them compressors. We had a shit load go bad at a restaurant chain in Florida we serviced. They had a filter company do the PM's. That cost them dearly.

I'm reading temperature... these are critical charged units and only hold ounces of refrigerant, only if necessary would you connect a gauge to this system. Just verifying that the new thermostat is turning off at the proper temperature I thought I explained that. Thanks for watching and the comment Chad Rayl!
