The reason Timothy uses the phrase "goofy Hallmark standard" btw - Fred Phelps, the originator of this hate brigade - he delivered his sermons in a very interesting way - he had a particular way of speaking that was very unlike normal people. Another sign of a cult - speaking almost in his own dialect. Hence why they come out with things that just sound weird. Timothy Phelps here, he grew up in that. All the kids tended to speak like that when they were switching the hatred on. I say switching the hatred on because they could actually be very nice when they weren't 'on'. It was like they flipped into a different personality and language - very interesting.

Odd way of talking, quite rambly, lots of yelling at random points and some of his wording is quite immature, which will be why the members also talk that way. There is substantial evidence Ghandi was a sexual deviant. Mother Theresa wasn't squeeky clean either, allegedly (missing millions of dollars and treatment of the poor in her care). That said, The Westboro Baptist Church is a sad indictment of human behaviour. Their beliefs are their own but to cause upset to others for not adhering to their own interpretation of their chosen religion and its holy book, is barbaric. Look at the pain and suffering in recent years and for centuries before then, has been caused by interpretation of other holy books. Surely this pandemic, which does not distinguish between religion, nationality, political stance, age, marital status, creed, faith, sexualty, whether you love or cannot stand Marmite (joke) or any other characteristic, should unite all of humanity and allow us to live life without preaching hate.

Bible says "Thou shalt not sleep with mankind as you would womankind" Point being, gay guys DON'T sleep with womankind. So that point is totally Null. The phrase is more about the actions of promiscuity and infidelity of the time where Roman leaders who were married frequented the bedrooms of their parlour men for intimacy instead of their wife. The fact "as you would womankind" exists in the quotation makes this point itself, otherwise why not just leave it at "Thou shalt not sleep with mankind"?

I've got no problem with religion or people having religious beliefs but you can't argue with someone who's main point of argument is "The bible tells me so" it's a losing battle from the start. I think the sooner we get away from the Bible being seen as a book of facts or history, the better. People who believe and preach in what the Bible says often give themselves a sense of authority to go with it because they are preaching text from the Holy Book...so it must be listened to and learnt from and taken literally as "The word of God" and they can't understand why they come onto shows like this and get laughed at by everyone in the audience.
