The point of the song was to tell both sides of the story to show that it is only misunderstandings that divide us. I think the reason why they said that was because it happened so quickly in the video. It went instantly from hateful things said and then a forgiving hug. It had to be that quick for the song sake to make their point but in real life that kind of forgiveness takes time.

I showed this to my cousins that they’re all are between 13 and 17 and they understood everything.
