well i wouldn't say liar, it depends on how things have gone. You don't buy a dog on the street , so she was wrong on that, but she might really have cared and spent money on the dog, without knowing she was getting scammed by the seller. She said don't because she didn't want to lose the dog i can think. Of course she may have very well been a shitty person stealing another person dog, but we can't know that XD

@ No, they don't. No toilets have weight limits, and I can promise you that if you go to the store right now you'll be hunting for ages and if you're super lucky you might perhaps find just one toilet that lists a weight limit. They'll give you just about every specification under the sun, but they won't mention anything about a weight limit. In spite of that, I can tell you that a wall-mounted toilet can hold about 500 lbs, which is more than most fat people ever are, and a standard floor-mounted toilet can comfortably handle 1000 lbs. Breaking the toilet because you're too fat is just not a thing. The toilet _seat_ on the other hand, they're not made to withstand even a skinny person wriggling around on them, and can break if the person weighs more than 300 lbs. So if she was suing the woman for breaking the toilet seat it'd be a different story, but breaking the toilet outright is 100% just an issue of wear and tear, or otherwise a result of pre-existing damage that was aggravated by the pressure of the mammoth booty.
@hauntedshadowslegacy2826
@hauntedshadowslegacy2826 3 жыл бұрын
@ You'd be surprised how much force porcelain can withstand. That said, older or well-used toilets will eventually break down. It could also be that this particular toilet had a flaw or two in the manufacturing process that made it weaker. Whatever the case may be, the ruling is already in; one rude bitch lost a friend (probably a few) because of ~$600.

Although Judge Judy is in fact a certified judge, what shes actually doing on the show is just arbitration so she is not technically acting in the capacity of a judge. The producers of the show search the US for small claims cases that would be entertaining and ask the parties if they would want to go on the show and have the matter resolved there. Both parties get paid for their appearance and travel expenses (i think), so usually it doesnt hurt as much for a losing party if Judge Judy rules against them.
@tashastarling870
@tashastarling870 4 жыл бұрын
I think they even pay for the judgement amount. So it can be a real win-win scenario for the show participants! The cost is airing their dirty laundry and maybe being humiliated by Judy on national tv. Some cases are fake but Judge Judy is smart and able to pick up on that a lot. And often can be much much meaner to them for it. She doesn't forgive stupid or greedy.

If I weighed as much as the lady does, and I sit on a toilet in a friend's house and it breaks as a result of me sitting on it, then I will offer to pay the cost of replacing that toilet. It's an unwritten rule in polite society to at least offer to repair or replace something you break that belongs to someone else. The obese lady admits it broke as she was using it, but then refuses to replace it. That's impolite imo and she is willing to throw her friendship away for the cost of buying and installing a toilet. Extra thought; do toilets come with information on how much weight they can carry?

I also think it is the absurdity of how litigious Americans have become. I may be wrong, but I believe if that incident happened in the 30's or 40's the parents would have settled it the same way (each paying half) without going to court.

@@z_ed That's insane, in Sweden if you're above 24 years of age (below its all free), you pay 100% of anything below $300 during a full year yourself, anything above 300 the taxes you've paid kicks in and helps with the cost so it pretty much can't reach 4k out of pocket, unless you've really messed up your whole mouth. This is without extra insurance, its just enough to live or work here for this.

True Story: When I little kid, one Saturday morning the tank of our toilet broke while no one was using it. No one had even been in the bathroom a while. There was suddenly this shattering sound and something falling. I got up from watching TV and my mom ran in from the kitchen and the tank had sheared in half on a diagonal and a chunk of it was on the floor and water was spraying everywhere.

I just realised that in the last case just before she put the dog down, the lady was like "don't don't". She knew who the dog was going to, it doesn't matter if the dog was once hers or not, the dog remembers who was the one one that actually took care of the dog. That just warmed my heart to a whole other level. I watched this episode before but I just found something new and felt like sharing.

I understand what the dad was saying, which was that the original agreed-upon payment he would make suddenly began increasing week by week until it was literally 5 times the amount (4000/800 = 5). But, isn't that to be expected? There are multiple dental fixings needed, including endo and ortho care, which are 2 entirely different dental procedures, which will come with their own hefty price tags. 🙃
