Whassup party people? Which 90s dance song was your favourite, and what song did you wish they covered? For us it was Vengaboys / Aqua’s Barbie Girl. Let us know in the comments! 😆

You guys are very right. PTX dont autotune unless is to pay tributo to the original song, like the Cher effect. Love your reactions

@@ZhenYaoYin not so much now with the pandemic. All the clubs in Ireland have been shut for ages. Not that I’d be going to them at my age🤣. My daughter is in her early 20s and can’t wait til the nightlife opens up again. She was inter-railing around Europe a few years ago with her pals and when she came home she was so tired from the non stop clubbing she slept for nearly a whole day😀.

Barbie Aqua!!! OMG! My kids were 8 and 6 years old and made us (right... kids making parents do something) play the Aqua tape (cassette then) in the car for a whole 10 hour trip...ahahah... We are very patient parents and they were happy kids for those 10 hours. Oh well... You do what you gotta do. Great reaction. Thanks. Always love PTX. 🤗

Hehe thanks Elaine! I’ve been in that same position before (asking my parents to play my favourite cassette/CD) and soon I’m sure it’ll be my turn! Actually what am I talking about, it’s already started, Zachary’s always asking for Blippi, Cocomelon and Peppa Pig 😅🤣

I am writing this at 3:27 into the video. You all just said kirsty's hair reminded you of JLo. I'm sure you'll see when you unpause it that that was a great guess. By the way they do have an NSYNC medley. Also I recently saw that Mitch said it was one of his favorite arrangements they have done. I was teaching and A HUGE FAN of NSYNC then JC Chasez solo and JT solo career too which is why I think I didn't follow them after the sing off.

I think Kirstie was doing a cross between J-Lo and Madonna. I actually WAS one of those people clubbing in the 90s. I never thought of myself of having a lot of "game", but I DID meet the woman I ended up marrying at a club in the 90s! And YES, Pentatonix did go against their own tradition by using autotune on "Believe" as a tribute to Cher. It's excusable in this case!

The reason Sandstorm and Barbie Girl weren't on the list was because Sandstorm came out in 2000, so not a 90s song, and Barbie Girl is a pop song, not a dance song. Dance being an electronic style of music. Also the autotune was a tribute to Cher. It's not like they couldn't do it without autotune. You guys need to listen to their version of Kesha's song Gold. Mitch killed the electronic manipulation the original had with just his mouth.
@ZhenYaoYin3 жыл бұрын

OK since you asked. the curls that Kirstie was rocking was a big deal in the 90s. Only thing is, she actually pulled it off compared to some of the ones I remember back then. Also, the autotune was a nice touch for this particular video. Just hope they do not do it too often in the future. And while you were too young for the club scene back then, I was getting a little too old. Kind of glad I skipped it :)

I had to double check after we recorded, apparently it first came out in 1999? Anyway, you’re right, Sandstorm is much more associated with 2000 than the 90s! 😆
@Querl_Dox3 жыл бұрын
@@ZhenYaoYin It was released in Finland 2 months before the end of 1999 that hardly counts as the 90's since no one outside that country even heard it before that and even in Finland itself the song did not chart until the worldwide re-release in 2000 nor did it get any spins on Finnish radio prior to 2000 so it's not just simply associated with the 2000's you would not have even heard it before that unless you hung out in very specific Finnish Trance/Techno clubs and after-hours rave clubs so that 99 date you read on the wikipedia doesn't even have any impact on you hearing it for the first time in 2000 since you specified you were a child in the 90's and NOT out clubbing in Finland lol. On another note nice reaction and keep the videos coming guys.
