Hi guys and welcome back to another 'FLASHBACK FRIDAY!' and in today's video and following last week's video, I am reacting to ALL LAST PLACERS AT EUROVISION FINALS from 1956 - 2019
That's right, way back when, when we were nothing but little stars in the sky. This is a whole new learning experience for me folks.
but, what I want to know is... Who is your biggest injustice?! Who didn't deserve their place at the bottom of the leaderboard?

Fun fact about UKs entry 2019. One of the backgroundsingers are a Swede who actually wrote Denmarks entry the same year. And also wrote Swedens entry 2020.

Still shocked about 2015 Ann Sophie I mean we sometimes send questionable entries like gracia to Eurovision but she had it ruff. She was our back up entry, because the original one just said „nope to afraid“. And then got 0 points. Still hurts a little.

I think Finland is the country that the most suffers from injustice.And Turkey 1975 and 1987 deserved to be in top 10.But as we all know juries mostly hated Turkey

Pills (the singer for Monaco 1959) was the father of Jacqueline Boyer (the singer that won for France in 1960. The only father- daughter duo to perform in contest history.

I'm so sad that you didn't like the Spanish song "¿Quien maneja mi barca?", probably the best zero point song ever. It should be noted that the music style was authentic Andalucian, and that the singer was barefoot.

Fun fact: Finland actually came 12th in the semi-final in 2009, but still we qualified, just to finish on last place, again😂

To be fair, O Jardim is currently the last placing song with the highest amount of points (39) since the introduction of the current system. Under the old system (2013-2016) it would have placed 22nd.

The song for Portugal in 1974 launched a Revolution (back home, called "the Carnation Revolution") in Portugal.

Fun fact: My first ever eurovision song I've ever heard was in 2009 during my summer vacation and it was "Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak, but the catch is that I didn't know about Eurovision yet! I still listen to it nowadays!

The first injustice IMHO was 1995, Stone & Stone for Germany is literally a great song. Followed by 2002, Denmark - 'Tell me who you are' is brilliant. Ireland 2013 still blows my mind, Ryan Dolan was great and certainly didn't deserve last :) Austria 2015, so passionate, such an injustice. Jamie-Lee 2016 Ghost shocker.

Black Smoke, O Jardim and Bigger Than Us finishing last are the biggest crimes from this list. And overall there are many great songs that didn't deserve it.

I agree with you the biggest injustice is Portugal in 2018. O Jardim is a best song and the singers are great too so I really don't understand why Europe leave Portugal last...

Hmm, I saw a lot of Finland, UK, Norway, Iceland entries finishing last? The biggest injustice for me will always be 1983 Spain, Remedios Amaya, a typical, original flamenco singer(a Roma descendent from South Spain) combined with modern pop of the 80's. This entry was really ethnic, the first one in the ESC history and it paved the way for other ethnic entries in the next decades. This entry made also a strong social point in Germany back then, and that is why it finished last. The singer was told from the stage director back then to change her shoes because they did not match to her beautiful night gown she was gonna wear on stage. Remedios said, this "ugly guy"(the German stage director) told her to do this in a very loud and commanding manner. Then he went on to say that the very beautiful black gown she was gonna wear, was too dark for the lightening of the stage. So Remedios did not say anything, and last minute she decided to go on stage with the casual robe she was wearing in the official clip for the song, and for shoes, she just chose to go barefoot!!! And this was a big shock back then for all ESC viewers and fans of the 80's. Because back then, ESC was a pretty conservative show. Remedios Amaya, after a long pause in her singing career, went on to a make a big career in her country. Today she is considered one of the best flamenco singers ever. Too bad, it seems, I 'm the only one who seems to appreciate this entry so much. Plus, I find the song very interesting, different and passionate

2015 was a bizarre year.. Neither Germany no Austria deserved Nul Points. I suppose if I werrent lazy I would go dig up the split vote from 2015 and see how AUT/GER would ahve done with the new split voting.

I really loved France 2014, Germany 2016 and Portugal 2018! Ver sad that they got last. I'm aware not many people like Germany 2016, but I really can't understand why the other two came last :/

Finland 2009 is a jam. Sadly it suffers from a subpar live cut and honestly, it was too ahead of the times in 2009 to get on people's radars and make people vote for it. It is a bop in the studio version and the chorus is so damn catchy. It was certainly an injustice that it came last.

When it comes to last placings in the early years of Eurovision, it's more which song gave the least impact compared to the rest of the entries that year, due to the voting system of 1 person = 1 vote. The early 1960s was simply a bloodbath when it came to last placings. From 1962-1965, 4 countries would get nul points, and in 1966 two countries got nothing. This was due to the voting system at the time where each country would give their Top 3 (1962,1964-1966) or top 5 (1963) songs points. I think the first "cringy" performance in Eurovision would be Switzerland in 1967. It's pretty tough to distinguish a "bad" entry when most of them are at most "meh." I really enjoyed your video! As for Sweden and 1963, it's their only Nul Points in the history of the contest, and only one of two times they were last in the contest. As for the biggest injustice...actually the dual nul points in 2015 for Austria & Germany. If the current voting system was in place that year, Austria would have been 23rd & Germany would have 25th. UK would have been last...again. I mean it's not great but both of them would have received points.

Ronnie Tober was (almost) robbed! It is not perfect (orchestra backing is a bit loud, performance is overly "Knowing", and it suffered from the "second up" curse) but it is not a last place by any means.

Austria 1962 was UH-MAZING! My favourite of all last places. Also, Germany 1964 was awesome!

Some fun facts Netherlands 1958 - the same singer that won the year before Norway 1963 - the singer who performed at Eurovision never recorded that song, the only recording is by the composer Germany 1964 - she was born in Bulgaria Belgium 1973 - They were supposed to sing the 1971 Belgian entry but Nicole got sick and they were replaced by two other singers. Portugal 1974 - One of the songs used as passwords for the Portuguese Carnation Revolution. Yes, this song ended a dictatorship. When will your faves? Belgium 1979 - The singer hated the song and threatened not to perform it on stage until down to the wire. Belgium 1993 - The singer who got inspired the Barbara Dex award Switzerland 1998 - The singer would end up in jail for financial fraud.

I still listen to black smoke , lose control and bigger than us. The rest I didn't like. Though in my Eurovision playlist I do have some low scoring songs and some actual winners I never listen to. For example 2015 ( strongest year imo) Sweden not even in my top 10 but Germany was. X

Officially there was only one last place, Germany in 2015. Austria and Germany both finished with zero points, but Austria was placed 26th and Germany 27th because Austria performed before Germany.

My fave last places from Eurovision are Stay and Only Love Survives. They are great songs and have great vocals but not so much in the lyrics. I also think Moustache, I’m Yours and Black Smoke were robbed too. From 2012-2015 essentially all the last were robbed. I don not agree with Portugal 2018. I do not hate it but it is not my favourite last place. But Monsters was robbed more than O Jardim. 25th was just so undeserved.

Belgium 1993 is why there is a Babara Dex award for 'worst' outfit. My favorite last places are Austria 1991, Iceland 2001, Malta 2006, Finland 2009, Norway 2012, France 2014, Austria 2015 and UK 2019, I don't think they should have been last place

Those that I think didn´t deserve the last place during the years are: 2006 - Malta (I relly liked that song) 2009 - Finland (Yes, for bringing 90´s techno back!) 2014 - France 2015 - Austria But a little fun fact for you! Norway has actually come in last place the most times with a score of 11 times. Then it is: Finland, 9 times Belgium, 8 times Germany and Austria, 7 times Spain and Switzerland, 5 times And U.K, 4 times

Shocked you like UK 2010, I consider it the worst act in the song contest's history, it checks all the boxes, poor vocals, phoned-in arrangement and production, IKEA staging, a pastiche melody and cringe lyrics. It makes me physically angry. Even more so than "Wadde Hadde Dudde Da?" and that's when you know it's bad.

I love the melody, I’m a fan of the cheese and a bit of tack value 🤣 the lyrics are nothing groundbreaking but it’s a foot tapper and I only really found the vocals bad towards the end. There are far worse Eurovision songs out there Bloodpact 😆

2010 - deserved 2011 - slightly harsh but not too bothered about it 2012 - robbed in my top 5 that year 2013 - harsh 2014 - robbed 2015 - both robbed 2016 - fair enough 2017 - deserved 2018 - feels harsh but were a lot of great songs that year 2019 - deserved
